Looking for a complete ignition, stator, rotor, ecu, coil for a spare 2009 125 engine that is currently without a rotor/stator. Anyone try the PVL? Cost is about $460. Looks like a good alternative if it is reliable. The PVL is imported by Penton Racing Products

Yes, my son's WR144 is running one and it works great.
We added a 9oz flywheel weight to it and he loves it.
We have been racing it all year without a hiccup.

Thanks! Any issues installing the rotor/stator?

I looked over the distructions the other day and was impressed with the ease of installation and the quality of the instructions. I would consider it for a replacement.

    Many. Too many.
I have a complete PVL setup on my son's CR50J. On that bike it was a pain, I had to make all fit and do some fab. It was listed as fitting the bike, but was really made to fit a KTM with the same motor. The kit works great after getting it all sorted out.

Looks like a good unit. Thanks for the feedback. I'll order a kit after I recover from my last purchase.

What's the word on this? How was your install and how has it been for you (or have you had a chance to run it beings it was on a spare engine)?

I'm really looking at this for my 250/300 build as my ignition system is currently dead. I'm still going back and forth over whether to get the OEM parts ordered and wait, or to get this bought and on my bike next weekend.

I have one on a klx 125. Its fixed as it has no advanced set it at your choice of deg. before tdc. and forget it. You will have to use the supplied spark plug wire and boot.
Easy to install and maintain, just make sure you have a good ground. I think mine had been on the bike since 04 and it always fires. On my unit I lost 13lbs and gained rpm good for three extra HP, but it has no rev limiter so it will run till it eats a valve.
Not all ,but some bikes will become bump start only. Like I said no advance and mine is set a 30deg-btc and if I kick it she fires before tdc spins backwards and cleans off the exhaust valve.
