Hi guys its been a while since i last posted. Ive recently fitted a 38pwk on my 01 wr 250. Im 115 meters above sea level, and the carb first came jetted with a R1370 needle, a 52 pj and a 175 main, and a 7 slide. But after reading and searching the previous posts, i'm now at 48 pj. DDK needle 3rd clip from the top. 7 slide and a 178 main and 2 turns out on the air screw. The mid range and top are really strong. But the bottom seems really boggy and slow to respond until it clears. What do you think would be a better pj 45 42.5 or a 40. Or is there something else i'm missing

if it bogs hard, it's lean. if yer Air Scew is out 2 turns, go back in to 1.5 and try again. if you go in farther than 1 turn out total, go back to 1.5 turns and install a larger pilot jet. leave the clip in the middle. try again and let me know.

Last night i was checking the bike over from the wkend and noticed the base gasket was leaking so it looks like the topends got to come off. Oh well looks like an other call to husky sport lol. Thanks pvduke ill be in touch.

is it a seep, or is it pissing something out? check the nut toruqe first before tear-down. if its just a seep and not detrimental to fluid levels carry on with your bottom-end jetting trials so when you do replace the gasket yer jetting will be ready for you.

No its was pissing out dude, my stupid kid brother built the top end whilst i was working away from home. And i found out today the right hand piston clip had not been installed and the wrist pin had put a big groove down the bore. So it now looks like a new liner and piston. Before i can do anything else which will be 7-10 days turn around. On an instresting note i did find out that a piston from a red jap 250 fits from years 87- 95 and nearly half the cost of a husky piston. Thanks so far to every one.
