Since I'm battling tendonitis in both elbows and wrist I thought getting a set of flex handle bars might help the situation. Anyone who runs a set and has elbow issues? Do they make much of a difference? Is there a dead feel to the front end when riding? Thanks for any comments/opinions.
I have them on my '09 WR144 and my trials bike. They are the cat's @$$ for me, as my wrists and elbows are well worn from a lifetime of manual labor.
My experience also. I filled mine with copper shot and added #714 waffle grips for further dampening. All three items help ...
Also i want to make sure im gonna be able to instal my scott steering damper on it and i want to save the same angle than the original one, witch one do i need? Thanks guys Alexis Sauve
Hi, Yesterday I sent an e-mail to Scotts about using the damper on my 07 Husaberg FE550e with Flexx bars and a Dugas Watchdog Enduro computer. Today the Scotts tech said there is what is called a Sub Mount Damper kit the changes position of damper to under the bars. it was an additional 50 bucks for this kit. Or, if you already have the Damper and wan to ad the Flexx bars, Fasst offers a crossbar set that will clear a damper that is above the handlebar. It can be found in the accesories section on their website----www.fasstco.com. There are Flexx Bars on my 87 Husqvarna 430 and my 07 Husaberg FE550e. In my opinion anything that reduces shock to the joints is worth it, especially being I've had arthritis in my shoulders at the age of 30 from working under cars with air impact tools for 10 years. Personally, I am not fast enough or ride often enough to notice a difference between regular bars and the Flexx bars. But also, the only two bikes I ride both have the Flexx bars so I cannot actively compare. The next bike will have Flexx bars too. Besides, if you think the bars are mushy feeling, then you can install the stiffer bushings. Hey, here is another item that should help with stiff arms and hands. I just ordered the G2 throttle tamer. It contains a different cam to slow the pull of the throttle cable untill you reach half throttle then above that it is of normal pull speed. Being I am in tight woods with a 550 anything that helps control will probably help me relax a bit better. Should be here next week, I will let you guys know how it works out. Has anyone else tried this item yet? Mark North Adams, Massachusetts
Without this stuff here, I probably could not ride ... It is not a pain reliever but rather a cartilage re-builder I think... after a week or so of taking in, my wrist pain is bearable when riding up to the 6hr mark or so ...
I finally got my flexx handlebars. I can notice a pretty big differance compare to before. I have a Husky450 TE and that bike has a lot of vibration, way less now with the Flexx. I orderd them from ATV Galaxie and unfortunatly i got the worst service ever. I paid an extra of over 100$ to get my bars with UPS but they shiped them by USPS,100$ less for them but they dont want to give me my monney back and i god the handlebars 4 weeks later so i dont recomand ATV Galaxie at all. Also i got a new Leo Vince pipe and a IMS tank from Ross Rocher Sale in Ontario and i got an awesome service from the guys over there!!!
Alexis, I would file a chargeback with your credit card company. If you paid for something that wasn't received (in this case, UPS shipping), and have documentation for it (including e-mails), most cc companies are quite helpful.
