    1. are far as bar mount brace on wr125 goes(bit that joins top clamp together) is it worthwhile cutting it to make independent bar clamps? does this help with bar twisting or opposite? was thinking bout doing it before weekend but unsure what results will be

    2. will wr300 front wheel swap over onto 125? waiting on new front tyre for 125 but it may not be here in time(damn my procrastination in ordering gear) & due to current tyre being pretty well rooted was thinking maybe swap decent front wheel/tyre from 300 over. axles/spacers interchangeable?

    thanks as usual all

    mmm pretty^.

nah you understanding me right have similar set up as above. was thinking bout cutting top clamp as bars twist pretty easy in crash(bars in clamps I mean not triples twisting unless its a real good digger:eek:) . was thinking as they are not physically joined other than bars this may help? im sure it was discussed in other threads but cant find. have brp ally cones, not rubbers. ktm & a lot of others all have separate clamps?!

hmm, i have never had the problem of my bars moving in wrecks...but i use steel bars, perhaps that helps? something is setup wrong if your bars twist "easily". the bars husky used in the 80s are a nice thin wall chromoly that dampens vibes and have a crossbar. super strong and very close to the weight of aluminum. they just dont have much bling and arent cool.

I shouldn't say easy. more a case of when I throw it away or drop it hard:D not a major issue I guess I just like my bike 'straight' & don't remember Honda bars twisting as easily(crf450x had independent/separate bar clamps). maybe I just crash harder now?!

i hear you, i cant handle my bars being misaligned. i cant get my head around how 2 smaller clamps would help with their lesser clamping area. perhaps its the bars? maybe someone with the same bike will chime in

same clamping area just cut the brace between them is all I mean. can move somewhat independently of each other in crash instead of 1 being moved a little & forcing the other side to move a lot more(ie 1mm movement on left equates to 5mm on right by time angle/length taken into account). maybe they rotate a small amount separately which prevents bars from being forced so far out?

Interesting theory, its one of those that could successfully be argued either way around a beer and bbq.......just the way I like it. Perhaps you could source some clamps from a wrecker or a mate to try before cutting anything.
