Rumor has it Husky has teamed up with one of the top names in GNCC racing Fred Andrews Racing. The team will consist of Simo Crissy in XC 1 and Jason Thomas in XC 2 who is the odds on favorite to win the championship.
I'm not too familiar with these races but JT is a stud ... He tossed , I mean tossed that yama-hammer ride mid season, jumped on a TXC Husky and kicked a$$ ... Let the good times roll! This is one sweet article about the last GNCC of 010 that JT won ... I'm down with him 4 sure ... http://www.gnccracing.com/articles/2602_husqvarna-continues-winning-ways Here is a couple lines from JT ... (for all you wanna be champs out there ... Buy a Husky and learn how to ride ) "We barely changed anything on the bike other than put my Renthal bars on it and a Pro Circuit pipe," says Thomas. Pro Circuit also revalved the forks and added a Power Commander ignition, but the engine remained bone stock. The reason for the mid-season bike switch ? "Team Fred Andrews Racing was looking for a manufacturer that wanted to help support us," explains team boss Fred Andrews. "Husqvarna is hungry to get back on top of the off-road market in the U.S. and Monster Energy FAR Husqvarna wants to help make this happen... plus the posted contingency is second to none," notes the veteran racer Andrews. Jason Thomas won the battle at the Ironman GNCC finale, but missed the National Championship by one point."The Husqvarna is a bike I know I can win on... the Yamaha is a motocross bike that needs a lot of work and takes a lot of work to race in the woods for three hours," Thomas explains. "The Husqvarna is a woods bike that works very well right out of the crate," Jason adds. "I don't believe I can be beat on the Husky as long as we don't have any problems!" -- I thought the same thing about my 08 TXC250 Husky ... (that part about out of the crate racer...)
Not a rumor. The Team is officially the "MONSTER ENERGY F.A.R .HUSQVARNA GNCC TEAM" XC2 Class: Jason Thomas and Morgan Moss Thomas and Moss will ride a TXC 250's. Team owner Fred Andrews is working on a top A class rider to race a TXC 310.... No official mention of Crissy or any others for XC1. Mr Andrews needs to call Fred Hoess and Wally Palmer for those position(s)!
Sweet news .... music to my ears .... I read that name as 'FAR Husky GNCC Team' ... Why not give Coffee the nod for the 310 ?
Back in the GN, Back in the GN, Back in the GNCC!! nice. (sorry i had to) Wally in XC1, and Fred in the Vet A class (as a support rider) along with those XC2 young bucks that would be a strong presence. For me Fred is the Larry Roeseler (in his 50s and still rips) of the east coast. Joe and others have you guys seen Wally head to head against the any of the top 5 XC1 riders?? Just wondering, and also is Wally a 3 hour fast guy (yet)? slight issue as the team principle for fast Freddy A, the new XC1 class 450, or run the now proven X-Lite based machine in its 310 clothes. I am sure Husky needs to get the 499 racing asap, but I think prolly from square one out of the gate it(499/511) will be better for H&H, WORCS and more "western" type racing, until it gets more devel for "woods setup". GNCC is a tough proving ground for any bike and pilot. PS Simo Kirssi is a BMW badass but not in the Juha (and other top tier GNCC riders) category. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTFZTC_Obn4 Simo in the German Nats=champ,,,,,WEC, GNCC etc???
Didn't Kirssi win the Erzburg prologue several times... anyone who wins that is a crazy badass But come to think of it all those Finns are badasses IMO. With Zip-Ty out west and FAR on the east coast Husky will definitely be making some noise. Would love to see Wally or Fred H on the Husky team.
I believe the FAR Husky will look something like this. Simo Krissi XC1, Jason Thomas, Morgan Moss XC 2and Fred Funk in the open A or A lites...I hear there will be a official announcement of the FAR HUSKY TEAM within the next couple of weeks.
Latest development Brian Baker will be riding the senior A class in the GNCCs and some selected national enduros for the MONSTER ENERGY FAR HUSKY RACING TEAM
WOW Brian is the fastest of the Baker brothers but isn't he a Super Senior A rider? Are you just starting rumors bjeff3
No pretty sure most of this is very accurate information My opinion is Husky hired the best in the businness....IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER WHO IS ON THE TEAM. I really think most importantly is Fred brings the experience to Husky that will get them back at the top of the off road racing world. Fred has been able to put riders on the track that can win as well as develop future GNCC champions. For those of you that don't remember JT had very little support when he came to the United States and Fred took him on and stayed committed for the las three years to get JT to the next level even when the Team didn't have a bike sponsor. In lehmans terms he paid for bikes out of his pocket.
The FAR Husky ... And it has Pro Circuit written on the forks! I'm sure all the grasshoppers will like the monster stuff
FAR is Fred Andrews Racing, ProCircuit is the suspension/engine company(you know that) looks like Fred is using PC as his motor and suspension company (nothing unusual about that, PC builds most every AMA SX as well most outdoor MX motors and does suspension for alot of the teams as well.
Right, not that I am on the inside or anything, but several of the sx teams just dropped PC as the pipes on their factory bikes ... this would not be business as usual ...
Well, you all were right, it is official and announced. Simo Krissi, a full Husqvarna factory rider based out of Italy will ride XC1 in the GNCC for FAR. If it involves motorsports, and you want to win....hire a Finn!
