I have a 2012 WR300 with open chamber Kayaba forks. I went to install a set of Race tech springs. They come with spacers i'm assuming because the springs are slighty shorter then stock. I have read through the directions and called the tech line and still cannot figure it out. The Tech dude keeps talking about cones that the springs sit on. I do not have cones I have a spring seat witch he says they need to sit under. They are the same diameter of the spring seat but there is no way to remove the spring seat. I think it is pressed on. Any ideas??????

I don't know if you figured it out or if this is any help, but I was looking at their site last night and noticed this "Spring guide needs to be machined down 2mm in diameter to fit in FRSP 4146 Series Springs. Top washer needs to be flipped over with thin lip facing the forks cap (a small notch must be removed to allow for bleed screw clearance) "

I don't know if they have corrected their site yet, but I told them a few weeks ago they had the wrong springs listed for the WR's. The 4146 series won't even fit over the cartridge. The 4346 series is the spring you want.
    PowerKord and ray_ray like this.

The Race Tech website specs the 4446 spring for the WR300, same as the TE310. They have the same forks.

That seemed stupid to me when there are springs that fit. Looks like they have switched to the 4446, but I used the 4346. There's .5mm difference in the two and the length is right on.

Installed the 4446 springs this afternoon. They fit just fine.

yes I have the 4446s but they are about 5mm shorter then the stockers. I dont know if i should even concern myself with the spacers, i guess the only effect it will have is a 5mm reduced ride height.

Put one spacer on and you'll only be 2mm short.

I didn't use the spacers. Without them, the bike sits nice and level with the rear static sag set at 25mm. Main reason I didn't even try to use them is they are not big enough diameter to fit on the spring seat. Do they go somewhere else? I'm a bit ignorant, as my last dirt bike was in 1981 ('79 250 OR) and it never seemed to break.

From what i can tell, you have to take the spring seat off and put the spacers under the seat.
