Ok I am now on the 5th rad repair since I bought my bike in 07, and wondered if anyone has found better rads then the originals? I know about the GMX ones, but they are big dollars.

I've had the right side fixed 4 times and I just dropped off the left today. None of the leaks were caused by falls, the rad just starts leaking along the inner seam, have also had tubes split.

Had a tube split on the left one, had it repaired locally (twice) and bought a new one just in case. I also bought an Uptite coolant hose Y fitting and installed that at that time. No more leaks have occurred since then and it's been a little over a year now.

this looks to be the inner most tube. What is funny is I had not ridden it since before Christmas so I pulled it out today since it's finally stopped raining and started it up. Let it warm up a bit and then jumped on and rode up the street and back. Pull into the drive look down to see a nice blue puddle. Wasn't leaking till I rode it

I may have to look into buying a set. I was just hopeful that maybe somebody was making something a bit better. Just glad I found the problem at home and not on the trail..

The problem is that 2007 huskys used a different supplier (alexon) and those radiators are prone to repeated failure. Every other year of DOHC four strokes has used toyo radiators and those do not have the repeated problems you guys are experiencing. Kelly is right the new rads are 129 for the left and 139 for the right with the cap and he has them on the shelf.

What brand of rads does Motosportz sell?

And can the 2007 bikes use the toyo rads?

I just wanted to add that I have experienced the same problem and my dealer recommended not to use a toyo right side rad with an alexon on the left. I think it was because it has a different cap. But if you have the alexon cap then it would probably be ok.

I guess this is a four stroke issue. This also is absurd compared to what happened when we had a stator go bad in a husqvarna chain saw they knew wasn't as good as it was supposed to be after a few years. The shop installed a new one for labor only.

This is a 2007 four stroke only issue and only the 250/450/510. The 610 has different radiators and does not have this problem.

I thought that the 08 radiators were fan cooled and smaller.:excuseme:

The toyo radiators are slightly narrower and also a little thicker. The mounting points are all the same as are the hose inlets. Some of the 2008s (SM/TE) are fan cooled and some are not (TC/TXC) but the radiators are all the same. The 250/310/450/510 radiators are all the same part from 2004-2010 except the 2007 models and the new 2010 250s. The bottom line is they tried something different in 2007 and it was a step backward so they went back to something reliable. Btw you can put a fan on any of those years and any of those models, we have people do it on a regular basis for technical riding especially on the 450/510s. The 250/310 does not generate the same amount of heat as the bigger bikes and the fans are really not necessary.

I did install a 610 fan on my 510 and really only ever use it when on trails with a lot of extended technical areas. I did have issues boiling over before, but have never overheated since I installed the fan.
