The terms cream of the hard-core crop and awe-struck are just a couple of the terms used to describe the Husky ... It was even called a pure dirt bike :)

Very cool short review overall ... Not to step on another brand too much but someone finally noticed some the competitors bikes are geared to high and gappy for the trails.... I rode one dirt bike yrs ago that was geared too gappy ... this totally ruined the bike.... Long live the CR 6-speed tranny!

The cr trans is exactly why I sold my te510, put in a wr and I might consider one again. Keep the cr for the txc models. I brought a 610 because of the wr trans. The TE come with a plate and your could add a couple of teeth to the rear if you wanted more boost.

Huskies are dirt bikes first, including the 510 ... The 610 is what Husky markets as a dual sport. Husky was giving out sprockets and chains for some models ...but I think this was to gear they down for the trails ... They should do the same, but opposite (gear it up), with you guys that buy a dirt bike and need to run it on the hard top and need the added speeds. The 6-speed transmission has potential ...At least mine does ... Great in the woods and adding 1 tooth to the front opened the bike up alot for the streets...

Yep I agree the 510 is really an enduro bike (and a beauty at that). The 610/630 is Huskies genuine DS offering. All in all we have seen a lot of terrific development in the brand over the past 3-4 years.

Even though mine is an old one by standards. I just love it.
I always thought of a 510 as a dirt bike that can do streets.
And a 610/630 as a street bike that can do dirt.

Every bike is old after a year 1 or so ... they all are the best of their day also when released ... maybe a new one is better or not ... Its all in the eyes of the beholder ...

My '08 TE 510 with it's cr trans makes me smile from ear to ear. I rarely go over 60 mph on the pavement. On the dirt it rarely stays under 60 mph. (OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a little. :D) But I did buy it for what it is, a plated dirt bike.
