The other day I was out riding with some of the other members of San Diego Adventure Riders, and one member on a newer Husky 250 had a rack on the back. I checked it out and it looked nice. I asked him where he got it and he told me on Ebay from Nomadic Racks. I have wanted to get a rack on my 08 TE510 for some time, but I have not been able to find one I liked or none have been in stock. I emailed Justin and he promptly replied, answered all my questions, and told me the racks for the new Huskies were in stock:applause:, so I ordered one. I decided to take some pictures and share the knowledge.

First the payment on paypal was quick and easy. The price is very reasonable at $79.00 plus shipping. The rack arrived a couple of days later, it was well packaged, and came with mounting hardware. The hardest part of the install was removing my dirt-bike-gear tool bag that was mounted on the fender. The front of the rack mounts at the rear bolt of the side plastics and the rear of the rack mounts on CNC brackets that bolt to the sub-frame. It is 8 bolts and takes very little time. The rack is steel and weighs 3.92 #

After the installation, I grabbed the rack and picked up the rear of the bike and noticed no flex or movement of the rack, it is very solid. I am going to modify a couple of my MSR fuel containers so they can be fastened down securely on the racks. I am also thinking about making a tool carrier out of 3” PVC and fastening it like the fuel bottle, I will post what I come up with.

Pros, mounts nice and low. Rack is a good size, not too long or wide. The paint seems very durable. The welds look nice and strong.

Cons, the only thing I can come up with is that you have to remove the rack to take the side plastics off, which is 4 bolts and about 50 seconds, I can live with that:).

You can find the racks on Ebay or email Justin nomadicracks@yahoo.com or phone at 619-277-6590

Looks good. Nice and simple design. i like the triangle plate on the underside that distributes the load between points.

It probably also helps support the sub-frame bracket. One thing I did notice is that if you want to take the rack off for a short ride, you can just pull off 4 bolts and lift the rack off, which takes about a minute, then just install your stock side plastic bolts and you are ready to go. The little (triangle) brackets stay on the sub-frame.

Hey thats some good shopping. Looks good, you are right it is spot on for size. I notice you are using the good old Aussie Motoz tyres. Hope you find them good. I get great grip and long life with those babies.

Yes, I really like the Motoz. I get very good, predictable traction with both the front and rear, and excellent wear.

Joliet, have you drilled out the hole through the sub frame where the rear side panels hold the forward mounting of the rack and what rear tire is on UR bike in these pics?

The rack looks really well made ... I gotta get me one of those ...

No, I just pulled the stock bolt out of the plastic and put the rack on. It comes with a longer bolt that goes through the rack and into the stock hole.

The tire is a Motoz Tractionator, Desert H/T It is awesome.

My 08 TXC250 has an insert in the frame at the side plate bolt hole that does not go through the frame completely ... I'm thinking of drilling through the frame here because that insert has started spinning ..

Got my rack a few days ago. Install was easy, and the rack is just what I was looking for. Even though justin was out of stock when I placed my order, he assured me he would get it out by the next Friday. Sure enough, it was on my door step Saturday! very happy with the rack [IMG]

I got my rack last week, I went to put it on Friday, the bolts that go in to hold it to the side covers are the wrong size, I had to get a smaller diameter ones. But other wise very happy

Can ya make it in aluminum? Not putting a lot of weight on mine, just want it for stiffening purposes.
