I want to pick up an extra rear wheel for my 08 TE450 and was wondering if anyone knows what years and models will work. Thanks!

Almost all years and models will fit from at least 03-04 to 2010. There are a few exceptions such as some years of WR 250s & WR 125's, and possibly some TE610's

You can easily verify by checking the Fiches on Halls website. Keep in mind that some years have slightly different part numbers; ie. they'll have a B instead of and A or something......The dimensions are likely the same on some of those, but the hub assemblies might have a different paint colour or grease seals or.......??

I have a brand new set of wheels for an 08 sitting in my garage. PM me if interested

    I put wheels from an 07(??) 610 on my 010 510

I believe up to 2010 there is plenty of compatibility

The 2011 630 actually uses the same part # for the rear hub assy. as most of the smaller bikes, but IIRC some older 610s didn't because they used wider bearings on the drive side. They should still fit the other bikes all the same - as your experience shows.

possibly, but 05 or 04 and prior are likely to cause problems.

2008 was the first year for the modified hub. If you look at your hub where the sprocket bolts on or the rotor (can't remember which side) you will see about a 5mm ridge where Husky added a spacer. This happened in 2008 to all four stroke 250,450,510 new frame bikes. Also on the new frame 125. So no to a WR 250/300. If you find a wheel 2008 or newer and not on a WR 250/300 you should be good. Can't say for the 610/630.

I'm not sure what bike you would have seen this on, as the part numbers and my (limited) experience do not bear this out. The front hub assy is # 8000 96838 for 04 TE's 05, 06 TE/TC, 07TE/TC all, 08,TE/TC/TXC all, 09TE/TC/TXC-all and 2010 TE/TC/TXC 310-450-510 - essentially all the 'big block' bikes. The rear hub assy is #8A00 96937 for all those same bikes. These same hubs are used on the 630 and possibly some of the 610's and IIRC several of the 125's
I have wheels for 07,08 and 09 4ts in my garage and all of them use the same hubs.

All the X-light and BMW engined bikes use the newer hubs which may or may not fit dimensionally..........

Is it possible that you are referring to a WR 250 rear hub?, as there were one or two years that they used an odd hub for them with a ~5mm offset.
Granted, I wouldn't put it past Husky to have shipped some modified WR 250 hubs on some of the 4T bikes.........

I thought we were talking about rear hubs, yes the front hubs are the same. I am saying that the WR 250/300 hub does not have the built in spacer that the '08 and up big block bikes have. The old frame two strokes (and '07 and older four strokes from what I have seen) do not have the 5mm spacer built in. So from what I have seen for his 2008 TE 450 any TE 250,450,510, 630 2008 and newer should fit. The new framed 125 will also work. Just not any rear wheel for a WR 250/300.

We are. I think you may have missed that point in my last post.....? I showed the rear wheel part #'s back to 04(now in bold). The Rear hubs for all the 250-510 big block 4t's didn't change for the new framed bikes in 2008- they've stayed the same all along. As also noted, I have 3 sets of wheels for 4ts; 07, 08 and 09. The rear hubs are the same on all of them. They are all full castings, no spacers.

That being said, it's very possible that husky shipped a few 2008 4t bikes that had WR 250 rear hubs converted with a spacer so they'd fit the 4t bikes. They've been known to ship oddball bikes here and there.......

To the OP, any rear wheel off any 4t big block 250-510 bike after 05-06ish will fit along with the 04 TE's. Any of the other bikes that also used the rear hub assy. PN 8A00 96937 will also fit(this may also include some years of WR 125's and WR 250's). The modern TE 610s that used a different PN should also fit, but remember they used wider bearings on the drive side in those years. The 2011 TE 630's also used the same PN 8A00 96937.

As far as I knew, It was only the 2strokes that were 4-5mm narrower than the 4strokes.

As for compatibility, you should be able to find a wheel back to early 2000's off of a 570 era bike. If you go back a couple years further it still works but requires some bearing swaps and possibly an internal spacer or two.

I can help with this. The 2008 and newer 250/310/450/510 wheels are different in the offset of the hub. The hub is the same and the rim is the same. The difference is that husky went from using 36 of the same length spokes to 18 "long" and 18 "short" spokes on the rear wheel to offset the rear wheel for the new frame. The difference is small 4-5mm and a brp chain guide can help make it work. Just for the record I have seen a new 4 stroke with a 2 stroke wheel from the factory and a BRP chain guide made it work. Good luck.

So the 2st wheel will work on the 4st? How does the chain guide make it work?

Well to fit that you need to space out the sprocket 5mm. Done.
Now if you are putting a 4 stroke wheel on a 2 stroke you can do a number of things. I would machine down the sprocket mount area on the hub 5mm. Then make a 5mm spacer so you can go back and forth. I have both sets and my plan is to machine a 5mm spacer and rivet it to a new sprocket. (I'm an aviation structural mechanic). Machine the spacer and place on hub. Install the sprocket and bolts. This insures the spacer is perfectly centered. Drill your rivet holes. And rivet together. Now you have a set of wheels that swap easily between 2 and 4 stroke with a simple sprocket change. Tracking? I just made a thread last night if the wheels and pics.
