I"ll be reassembling my WR 360 upper soon; i sent lower out to have crank removed, rebuilt and reassembled. Just curious if i should be aware of any helping hints for assembling upper? Any trick for the piston wrist pin clips?
This is my first 2 stroke motor since late 70's w/a couple RD 350's.

I"ve been w/o Husky since early Dec, looking forward to having it running again! The weather is almost perfect here in GA!

I haven't dug into mine yet, so i can't really help except to suggest keeping the manual handy, taking your time and double checking everything.

Looking at the wrist pin clips that came with the oem kit, I don't think they will be too hard to get in. I've been able to get the clips that come with je pistons in by just pushing with my thumb and they are thicker. Just get one end in the groove and gently but firmly work it into place.

I would like to know who you had rebuild your crank? Did they use oem parts? How much did it cost?

bought OEM Husky rebuild kit, $350+, didn't realize it included new rod w/crank bearing, also came with piston bearing; had local guy in GA reassemble, $60 charge.

+1 on Mr. Crankshaft. Vince is old school and uses the best quality parts available. (No Chinese crap) I used him to repair a blown up Hot Rods crank in a Yamaha and the total turn around time was 3 working days. Mailed it on Thursday and had it back on Monday.

Open end of wristpin clip should always be at 12:00 or 6:00.

update on my 360 Husky! It's been slow going with this rebuild project as i have a crazy work travel schedule but i was targeting this Sat as fire up date, but made such good progress Mon & last nite that i was able to try start up last nite; and wouldn't you know it the SOB fired up within 4-5 kicks! The compression is MUCH higher when kicking it, and when running it even sounds different, exhaust note was sharper/crisper...even my 12 year daughter noticed it....doing run in according to Husky manual, so cool thing is the next two times went to kick it over it started on 1st or 2nd kick! i'm sure i still need to fine tune final jetting on the PWK i bought last fall, but i'm very pleased... i've got a small leak on the clutch gasket and am leaking some gear lube, i'll try tightening bolts, but probably will need to replace gasket. overall at this early point very happy with my low grade mechanic abilities!! but with this big time compression improvement i guess i really did have a 'tired' engine....well fresh now & cost me $ 1k, including upgraded fork/shock springs so my handling issues should be solved as well....Thanks to the guys on Husky Cafe who assisted me with suggestions and comments......i'm heading out for longer run tonight and then hopefully trails Sat a.m.....can't wait!!
