So I picked up a 2004 WR 250. Thinking of doing a complete tear down and do a frame up restoration. Adding new plastic and graphics undecided on color of plastic and graphics. While it is tore down I would rebuild the top end it has a FMF Gnarly pipe already. Thinking of a lot of powder coating as well frame, bars, wheels (COLOR?) OR I just ride it as is and sell it to upgrade to a newer bike... Anyone have any experience in this or opinions on the subject. So restore 250 or buy new 300?

Parts are plentyful and cheap for the most part.

The bikes are almost the same.

I think the 04 is put together better. new bike has better forks.

I'd rebuild the '04 and look for a set of TC mazocchi 50mm forks for it.

I would make it awesome with modern plastic, but in some sort of Swedish colored style and cool polysport stuff, like the headlight, handguards etc.
