Tartin the ol 300 up a bit n chain slider is near cactus so thought I'd get a red one to match guide n rollers. There's one on ebay for bout $40us but it says for 93-02 125/250/360. Are the swingarm/sliders the same on newer 300s? I would have thought so but wanna double check.

Also the slider n guide are knackered on my 165. TM designworks make em both but pretty exy(although the TM guide on 300 has been on for years n aside from rock damage has hardly worn!) so wondering if any alternatives. I saw brp do a guide. Realy more interested in the cheaper slider as happy to pay for TM or brp guide. Anyway if yas got anythin let me know. Cheers as per usual yall

If they do a white/ natural colour you can dye it with dylon and alot of salt boil it for around 5 mins remove and see if its red enough.
Use a scrap pan or your wifey will beat you with it.

Juicy how different is your slider to mine(300)? Can u compare one at all-mates with 250/300? The photo on ebay looks very similar but not sure if hole centres are correct. Thought bout painting one but wouldn't last long m look shitty. Don't see a white but dying it may work if I do

    Another coupla questions then people.

How different are the new gen frame sliders(2013 wr125 for eg) to the older gen ones(07 wr125 for eg)? If they similar could possibly make fit as red available for newer models. If it can be flipped for RHS drive

Will a pre 09 slider flipped over fit the RHS drive 2t? Jus thinkin might be able to find a red one for the four strokes or 125 n flip it over for 300.

I'm away at work so can't physically compare mine ATM

Righteo so lookin at both bikes today(2013 wr165 & 2010 wr300) n aside from the obvious of drive being on opposite sides the bloody sliders look identical! Hole centres are the same n lookin at em side by side the slider shape looks the same. Only difference I can see is that the 300 uses smaller round mounts for the forward mount which is insignificant n the 165 has a raised side on the outer edge of slider(I'd assume to protect frame from damage) which could easily be trimmed as it would be on the lower outside if swapped to RHS drive. Anyone tried this? I might order another TM slider before they're all gone n jus trim the raised edge if it needs it.

Nah that's the guide im talkin slider Doug. Yeh brp looks like a good thing too. I'm sure either it or the TM one will never wear out(well...) so replacement parts not so much a concern!

Yup did it this arvo. Swap over no probs jus the dish washers for mounts are different(300 has 2 elongated n 2 round type where as 165 has 4 elongated-nothin a few washers wouldn't sort if ya don't have correct hardware. I jus swapped between the 2 bikes) n u need to trim the 165 slider side protection off(300 doesn't have it).

So in summary any of the xlite/125/last of 450/510 sliders should fit the 250/300 2ts with a little trim up! Good times

Fitted up the TM designworks wr125/xlite slider to the 300 yday. Overall fitment pretty straight forward. Took front sprocket off(chain still on) n dropped bottom chain roller off. Bit tight but goes on pretty easy. Alignment was slightly off(not sure why-maybe small variance between stock n TM or RHS n LHS sliders?) as in the slider ridge that the rollers sit on was pushing it out wards towards the frame(& rear brake hose!). Put a zip tie on the frame to keep line as close in to frame as possible. Removed a bit of material from the inside of the forward 2 mount holes(top n bottom of swingarm) so it would allow the slider to be moved further in towards shock. Also took a bit of material off from the outside of the mount closest to the shock for clearance reasons. Other than that sweet fitment. Don't even need to remove the raised edges that would normally sit on top of swingarm to prevent chain moving laterally.

Sweet job! I've been starting to look for a slider for the 06 250 as it's got quite the groove in it. I imagine that even though they state 2010-2013, the 06 swinger ain't too different since UFO lists theirs as 05-13. Sound right?

Jus a heads up for u blokes like me that don't see the need to read instructions-use the small washers TM send u n locktight on forward mounts! My second slider arrived the other day so I opened it n had a flick thru TM catalogue n the instructions. Says to use the 4 small washers provided between the oem dish washers(TM slider is much thicker so washers take up gap to prevent bolt pullin thru) on the forward mounts(rear 2 are just screws that go direct into swingarm). Also says to use locktight n that the bolts WILL back out if u fail to do the above. You have been warned it says!

Huh I thought I'll go have a look at my 300 that has a few rides on it with new slider but know it all me didn't read instructions wen mounting n thought the washers were jus spares(like ikea furniture) for the oem bolts/screws. Sure a bloody nuff the front top bolt is MIA along with the dish washer n the bottom bolt is loose!

Moral of the story is don't be a know it all dickhead, read the idiot guide first!

Now I've gotta hammer out a washer or find some kind if replacement :(
