On my TE 310 I bought second hand the rego sticker is stuck around the fork near the headlight with some sought of clear plastic contact. Its not the stuff kids cover their school books with its thicker. I've been to bike shops and stationery shops but no one has been able to help. It protects the rego sticker perfectly with out the need to use cable ties and although it sticks to the fork it's easy to get off. I can't reuse because I can't get the old rego sticker off without taking the adhesive off it. Anyone know what this clear plastic film/skin is and where I can get it?

I just use a laminating machine for the lable then attach with cable ties on top of fork leg ,waterproof and easy to remove at rego time.

I do the same, but the clear stuff you are talking about is made by factory effex, bought some today from my local bike shop, but laminating is easier and if the cops want to have a look at the label, its easy just to snip off the cable ties.

Similar stuff is used on bicycles to prevent frame chipping, cables rubbing etc.. Not sure how wide you need it.. But the stuff I have and use is
2" wide x 10' long.. It's called "Bike Saver Protective Tape".. Your local bicycle store may have some in stock.. Hope this helps.. Cheers.. :)

P.S. You may want to apply some as per pic below.. To help prevent your seat forming wear marks on subframe.. See areas marked with " X X X "
