[IMG][IMG]I just put the 7/8th Renthal Jimmy Button bars. They are about 1/2" taller and are 3/4" wider. To be the same as stock they need trimmed 3/8" on both sides. I left them wider. I wanted a cross bar to mount the GPS and stuff.

That looks really good! Saving pennies for a GPR.

Righto, this is taxing my (limited) neuronal capacity. I'm looking for a quality replacement for the stock bars with similar / identical ergonomics - they're pretty much spot on for me.

I just returned a set of Renthal 996 Reed / Windham bars - not enough sweep or height. So I took my bars off and took the following measurements off them as accurately as I could:

    Height: 130mm
    Rise: 70mm
    Sweep: 80

I don't know if anyone else is able to corroborate these numbers.

So then I checked the Renthal & Protaper 7/8 bars for a match. From what I can tell the closest matches are:

    Renthal Vintage/Desert
    Height: 118mm
    Rise: 85mm
    Sweep: 78mm

    Renthal Enduro High
    Height: 130mm
    Rise: 95mm
    Sweep: 75mm

    Renthal Jimmy Button
    Height: 110
    Rise: 85
    Sweep: 67

    Protaper ATV Low
    Height: 140
    Rise: 88
    Sweep: 84

Does this fit with what other inmates have found? Any particular recommendations?

Baddrapp I see you fitted the Jimmy Buttons and found that they were actually higher than stock. Maybe I measured mine wrong (or we had different stock bars). Do you find them a close fit to the original?

Crickey, this post is way too long...

    I found this at http://www.f650gs.crossroadz.com.au/AlloyBars.html

    Model Width (A)Height (B)Rise (C)Clamp (D)Sweep (E)Control Length (F)
    F650GS/Dakar 790 mm 118 mm 79 mm 150 mm 93 mm 200 mm
    G650GS 10+ 812 mm 105 mm 65 mm 160 mm 80 mm 230 mm

I figure the TR probably has the identical bar to the G650GS and therefore I got the height quite wrong.

I just compared both both bars sitting on the table. They where close with the above referenced numbers. I have the GPR stabilizer which raises the bars about 3/4 inches. These fit the bill as being close to the stockers. They are holding up great . I have completed my crash testing of the bars and they still look new. No spaghetti like the stock bars.

Thanks Baddrapp! I spotted a set of those Jimmy Buttons in the shop today so I reckon I might grab them tomorrow. Hope you held up to the crash testing as well as the bars!

I have Protaper MX bars with 1" risers. Love em. Perfect for standing. They were fairly close to the same profile of the stock bars.

The part number for the BMW G650GS/Sertao (32 71 7 708 103) and Terra (7708103) bars is the same, DeLewis is correct
