Hi all, currently in the process of repacking my 4.1 and am having some trouble. All of the videos and steps I found show that the inner core should pull out with the end cap. Well, during my removal I managed to get the end cap completely off with the core still inside the exhaust. Has anyone had this issue before? Not entirely sure what to try, do not want to damage or bend it up real badly. I was not overly aggressive during the removal either. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony

Not entirely sure, but I'd think removing that high temp silicone would allow you to remove the inner core.

I assume the other side is welded?

The other side is pop riveted on. I did my best to remove as much of the silicone as I could. May end up taking it to the Yamaha shop one of these days.. Just frustrates me

I have a pro circuit and the directions that came there repacking kit had you remove the rivets on both side. The kit they sell also comes with the replacement rivets as well.

From the pictures you pip look in good shape. How many hours are one it.

I actually got it taken care of. I had to pound the end cap back in and on the second time it pulled the core out with it. I don't have an hour meter. I would think around 25-30 hours though definitely. My 17" rims throw the speedo off so my mileage isn't true anymore either. It currently reads somewhere around 1500 miles. I assumed the packing would burn out fairly quick from riding pretty hard on the streets but it was in good shape. Thanks Joe.

In the future, when the outer shell begins to discolor and the sound output gets really loud, that's your bell weather.
