I have a 2007 TE450. So I have shipped my forks and shock off to Les at LTR. Since I had my bike apart already I decided to pull the carb and clean it. I searched back on my TT posts about my jetting, and have discovered that my jetting is not what I thought it was. I have a 175 main (been fine) a 45 pilot (seems fine) and an 85 leak (not what I thought). I thought I had a 65.

First I want to make sure I am checking the correct jet's. All 3 are right together in the float bowl, correct? I pull the float bowl cover off and the main is in the middel with the pilot and leak on either side?

My bike has been running fine with this setup ever since I re-jetted it and added the YAM needle (5BE-14916-DP-00 5th position). I did this early on when I got the bike and was just following the dealer's directions and reading post's on Thumper Talk. Now I am not sure that this is the setup I should have.

Just thinking..:excuseme: Mabye not a such a good thing sometimes.

i have seen a bit of variation in jetting. some may be due to elevation, and a smaller bit to exhaust and whether it is a tc or te, or even a smr. i am running a 180, 48 pilot but am going to try a 50 and am running a 70 leak jet. your leak jet is in the bowl, i think what you are looking at is the slow jet....:cheers:

those are your 175 main, 45 pilot, and 85 "starter" jet (choke)

as stated your leak jet is on the bottom of the inside of your float bowl cover.

Sounds like you just want to verify your jetting with guys with simular bikes: there should also be 5 letters stamped on your needle such as OCEMP, OCEMN...... most people can recognize that as an emp needle or emn needle and tell you what they are running with that needle- the actual part number will be less helpfull to most.

The needle will determine what main works best for the most part coupled with your elevation, exhaust, other air/ fuel mods....

Just out of curiosity...why would you give a poop what your jetting is if the bike runs the way you want it. Don't worry...be happy!:D

Yes, thank you.:notworthy: I am an idiot. now I remember where the leak jet is. That makes much more sense. I was thinking the starter jet was the leak jet.

Now I'm not going to change my jetting. I love the way it it, but when I pulled it apart, the numbers didn't match what was in my head.

    Thanks again!
