Does anyone know if it is legal? I have passed state troopers before & nothing happened & tonight with my son we got pulled over by the local police, I told him I thought it was ok if we were 15 feet off the road way. He let us go, my 9 year old son sure got a kick out of it.

    I'm not sure.

I believe this would be better placed in the main from though.

I was also told a Sheriff it was ok if we stopped when crossing roads & looked both ways?

I grew up in Woodstock, IL and I probably rode every ditch in McHenry County back in the 80's and early 90's. From what I can tell its perfectly legal.....

As long as they dont have a 4WD with 2 feet of ground clearance and 400HP :D

Actually, I've been stopped and told its not technically legal, but they weren't really concerned with it and let me motor on as I was. Assuming I wasn't on private property and/or destroying anything.

I once got called in and the sheriff pulled me over just to tell me to stay away from the callers property
This was 20 years ago though.
