Noticed today that neither turn signal on the right side (2007 TE450) are working all of a sudden. The light on the computer does illuminate but does not blink like it does when the left signals are on. I'm not very savvy when it comes to electrical systems. Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking? I've checked for obvious shorts/loose wires but found nothing. Is it the relay perhaps? BTW - If someone said "Yes, it's the relay" I would have no idea how to proceed Thanks
The relay is fine. You have an open wire on the right hand side. Use an ohmmeter or DVM to compare the left and right sides, if you don't know what those are might be best to get a friend to help. The way it works is this: The 2 bulbs on one side are in parallel to one potential (think it is the +12v) The other side of the bulbs are in parallel and go to the switch. When the switch is closed it connects the 2 bulbs to the flasher unit which lights the bulbs (front and rear). When enough current has passed through the flasher unit it 'warms up' and opens. When the flasher has cooled down, it closes the circuit again and the bulbs light up again... repeat as long as the switch is closed. If one side is working, and the other side is not, the flasher is fine.

Ahhh yup! Dunno what I was thinking when I wrote that But technically a burned out bulb is an open wire, right? (trying to save face LOL)
It'd have to be two burnt out bulbs though, as I have burnt out one bulb and it doesn't seem to affect any other bulbs.
Trenth, Did you ever locate the problem? My turn signals worked fine until I took the seat, gas tank, and carb, and headlight assembly apart. Now, my dang left signals are not working. There's only 1 fuse for the TE510-- correct? If this is the case, it's not a blown fuse. I guess I need to start looking for an open wire somewhere. I can wire a house, but don't ask me to wire a bike :cripple:
Well, Since I posted in regards to issues I was having, I figure I'd better post about the "fix". I took the tank and seat off, and pulled the headlight several times to no avail. I checked for loose connections, exposed wires, etc. I kept jiggling wires thinking maybe I had a loose connection, but never could get the lights to flicker. Since I finally got my jetting close, I had a buddy come over to ride the bike this evening; I'm trying to tempt him into getting one. As he was getting ready to pull out of my backyard, I told him he'd have to use his arm to signal left turns. He proceeded to hit the left turn switch, and the lights came on. This was after a couple of hours of working on the bike. I've tried to recreate the light malfunction, but have failed miserably. Hmmmmm. The next time you need something fixed, have a buddy come over and ride your bike?
I know I'm only 5 yrs late.........and it might be rediculously redundant but on some of our Huskys like my 08 610 the engine has to be running for the turn signals to work........correct? That has been a pain for trouble shooting........especially starting up in the garage.......even for a minute or two. My problem is I broke the OEM flasher with the body panel removed moving the bike around. Is there an aftermarket /other make flasher relay that might work in lieu of this $31 OEM?
