Eric and I spent New Year's Eve day out at Hollister. It's always good to end the year on the bike, and we were celebrating Eric's birthday, too. The place was a zoo, as expected, but we spent the day on Troll and all its various single-track off-shoots. Consequently, we didn't see another soul all day We pretty much had it all to ourselves. Conditions were epic...unlike my photos. Look what I found! Eric likes his new Giant Loop Mo'Javi bag... After a full day of riding we headed over to our campspot at Mercey Hot Springs and soaked til 2010 was nothing but a distant and very hazy memory... We started 2011 off with a soak and then stopped off at the gate to the Panoche Hills on our way home. Panoche Hills is a nice tract of BLM land with questionable status as far as street-legal bikes go. It's ok for 4x4's and trucks, and the sheepherders ride quads, but according to our friend Rick Cooper at the BLM it is closed to street-legal motorcycles. How can this be legal?? There's a new information kiosk listing motorized trails/roads... The old kiosk with the "No Motorcycles" sign is lying in a heap on the ground... There is no OHV allowed there, but if you have a plated bike there are some really pretty dirt/gravel roads with beautiful views. Not a bad way to end one year and begin another Here's wishing a very happy and prosperous New Year to all my Husky friends! WoodsChick
Thanks for mentioning Giant Loop bags. The owner, Dave Wachs, is a friend of mine. He is a great guy. He rides more than anyone I know. Everyday I'm sure of it. Giant Loop is growing rapidly thanks to riders and posters just like you. Tell all your friends about Giant Loop.
Yeah, I don't know what it means, either Thanks, Pilot; that's the plan Yep! Good bunch of folks that put out good products...and ride reports I've got a 1st generation Giant Loop on my KTM 450, too WoodsChick
Hollister That's some good looking dirt and trail. When i lived in Morgan Hill i remember exploring down around Hollister and south to Pinnacles Mon. Its a pretty area in the green of spring. There is a BLM area down there that is a large abandoned asbestos mine. The soil is litterally white, loose asbestos in places. It was weird to see people ripping around in asbestos dust. Some jeepers wore paper masks, others not. I decided to get out of there.
ooo- howd i miss this one. first few pics are a DB Disneyland...that was epic!!! im moving. and who tagged the sign with coffee's colors!? lol.
It's actually Hear, hear! It started as "Hear him, hear him!" in the British parliament. WoodsChick, you find the nicest places to ride. Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year, as well!
