hi just starting to set my terra up for adventuring I was looking at these racks https://www.adventuremoto.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=2287 is there going to be an issue mounting a rotopax 3.8 litre fuel container container directly onto the above racks having it next to an exhuast?
Only if it touches or is a small fraction of an inch away. It's rather amazing the small stand-off distance one needs to be away from the exhaust (or bit of shielding) to prevent melting. Look at the stock plastic trim pieces that don't melt because of their slight stand-off position. The rack designers appear to have specifically talked about Rotopax being compatible...I'd believe them. If you're particularly concerned you can always add a heat shielding like the Giant Loop people use. BTW, a niggly thing, but I don't think the Rotopax qualifies as a "fuel cell" in your thread title as it's not plumbed into the existing fuel system. It's a fuel can or storage pack. A VERY cool and HIGH QUALITY quality fuel can to be sure, but certainly not an auxiliary fuel cell I've seen and use regularly.
