Does anyone know how to re-set the RPM light on a 2008 TE610. Mine comes on at 3,200 RPM and its extremely annoying, especially at night. I think it was set like this by the dealer for the break-in period, but the dealer went out of business. Thanks for any help.
With the key on, hold the mode button down (while in tach mode) 7 or 8 seconds until a little "ws" starts flashing in the lower right corner of the screen. then release and push the button again and see if the tach setting comes up, if not, keep scrolling through the functions until you see the tach setting. Once there set it how you want it...... I think. I've done an 08 but I need the bike to go through it again. This has been covered and covered again. Do a search on speedometer set up or computer set up, and you should find miles of threads on the subject..... good luck.
That did it....thanks! I did search the forums but didn't find it....I'm not that good with computers. Anyway, that worked and it's re-set now. That red light coming on at 3200 RPM was getting on my nerves. A few more weeks and I should have all the little bugs worked out. Thanks again!
Why couldn't you have said this when I asked the same question in this thread here http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/te610-redline-warning-light.20948/ ?? Now, granted, my question was a little wordier than wadehouk's (go figure, eh?) but it was the same thing!! Hrmphh... I just think you like wadehouk better than me :angry crossed-arm smiley ; ; ; ;
Wow!!! I thought I did??? I don't remember now...... Sorry about that..... not even in one of my PM's????? I'll explain it twice next time to even it back out.....
I looked at the post and I did gloss over it for ya. Some day I'll have to do a video seminar on these, the dealers aren't showing anybody how to do it...... LOL...
Oh, you're in trouble now, Mister Don't worry, though...I'll think on it a bit and I'm sure I'll come up with a way you can redeem yourself
No, a full color HD video on CD with accompanying written instructions in large print (blue ink, please) should do it, I think.
How about you come down here to go riding and I'll show you in person, then dust it off with the "High Output Red Feather Duster".......... LOL.....
Sounds like a plan Maybe a Husky ride in the Mojave sometime? Ok, another question... Eric's `06 TE610 dash is now only showing 2 screens...odo and trip. He originally had 4 screens, including time and tach. He cannot pull up any other screens at this time. What say you, oh wise 610 dash experts?
Thinking about a "get together" in the Brashaw Trail area, it's crazy awesome riding!!! and perfect weather in the winter..... Try disconnecting the Batt. for a minute, then re-connect it and see if the other screens wake up...... If not, you might try the button hold down while you turn the key on, wait for the "ws" to flash, then do the high beam trigger 5 times routine and see what happens. Can you get the shop manual disc from your dealer???? It has detailed intructions for all of the settings etc. Let me know what happens.....
The first thing we did was disconnect the battery. No go. Holding the button down, pressing every damned button on the handlebars, wearing lingerie and asking nicely for cooperation, standing on one's head, facing the west and saying 3 Hail Mary's, praying for divine intervention...nothing seems to work.
Well, that's a new one for me, I've never heard of that problem. Can you get into the other settable screens at all???? Has the oil change icon showed up yet?? All other electrical components working???
