So there's been a lot of speculation as to who will take Davi's spot at factory kawi and as of now it sounds like Tomac will be the next rider under the green tent. Apparently there will not be a 450 effort for the geico Honda factory connection team next year, and factory Honda is already full, so monster energy Kawasaki seems like the best option for Eli. There is also talk that Kawi has a new bike in the works for 2016 and beyond. However, this is all speculation, but as of now I see Eli Tomac headed to Kawasaki after the outdoors are over, actually he may already be signed!
wowo on those team changes ... They need more cameras on the track to catch all the action going on out there, ESP some of the moves Eli was doing in some of the corners ... If you look at the wins the current crop of riders have, the real heir to the-top-rung-of-the-podium, does not really exist ... Eli could easily be the next ...
I was on top of this during the McGrath, Lusk, Henry etc. era. I kind of lost track near the end of Carmichael era. I watch Carmichael race the 80cc and knew he was a up coming pro. I just don't see the excitement today that dirt bike racing had in the McGrath times. These guys were top notch and hungry to win they battled. I'll still watch it now.
just a heads up, it is now almost guaranteed that Kawasaki will at the very least have a highly revised 450f for 2016 (not sure about the 250f. Now I can't guarantee just "how" new it will be, but I've read there will be substantial engine changes and maybe even a big change in the rear suspension, however that can not be totally confirmed yet.
I think that KTM/HUSQVARNA in the hunt to set records and win races and championships. It's going to push up everyone's game. Ktm and Husqvarna is going to do to dirt bike racing what tiger woods did to golf everyone up'd there game. For us we can sit back and watch what the new upgrades will be. It's only going to get better where going to be on the edge of new technology. That's good a big change is coming. Well see who leads the pack. I wish we had a race leader section to be updated as we go through the season.
I'm 50, watched all those racers you listed. I think these new guys are just as hungry, battle hard, race much harder tracks on way faster bikes with way more pressure (money) to win. That said I loved watching all those guys and many more like Jeff Emig, LaRocko, Bail, the list is long...
For whatever reason, these teams can be somewhat shady on injuries.. With that in mind, with only these shoulders injuries for Eli, KAWI does not seem to have purchased damaged goods. But, unless the ink has already dried on any new contracts, they will check his injuries out before any ink pens are brought out for a new contract.
