I've got a 1999 cr250. I'm trying to set up the rear shock and I don't have the dual clicker knobs that I see on the pics of other guys machines. Mine has a hex nut looks like about a 12 mm. The nut turns but no click sound and no noticeable change in shock performance. Any ideas?

the hex nut preloads the high speed damping stack. There are no clicks it is mesures in turns.

Is that the only adjustment on the shock?

No, the slotted adjustment inside this nut is the low speed comp adjuster, at the bottom of the shock you will find the rebound adjustment. I would read up on what these do before messing with them.

Copy that. I have the service manual and the owners manual. Thanks for the advise.

No problem. knowing how to tune suspension can yield some big benefits.
