Anyone seen these tires? Seems like a good alternative to some of the DS tires out there, and it should fit the rear (150/70-17 instead of 140/80-18 is probably OK). Better tread life and being able to flip the rear based upon intended use would be a bonus.

    It wont fit your bike.

A 17" tire wont fit an 18" rim.
I have even seen someone try that did not realize they had bought the wrong size.

    Good catch!

All American Terras are on 18" rims. Other Terras in the world (the ones with ABS) are on 17" rims these tires would technically work. Coincidentally, my Strada turned Terra with a GS650 Dakar rim would be able to use this tire, however I wouldn't consider it. A 150 on my narrowish 3.00" rim would be sub-optimal IMO and at $225.50 it's nearly twice as expensive as a TKC80 or Heidenau. Throw in shipping and it may be more than twice as much.

    Where are you pricing tires?

    Metzler Karoo 3 150/70 17 - $202
    Heidenau K60 150/70 17 - $194
    Continental TKC80 150/70 17 - $180

At worst, that's a 25% premium (not including shipping).

And note that the MC60 front is less expensive than any of the above fronts.

    I was talking 140...not 150. I bought a 140/80 17 for $129 several months ago at Revzilla. I got a good deal! :) However, I see they're substantially more at $157.95 today....so only a 40% premium in this different size.

150 size less of a good deal, as you noted, at $180. But Sava's claim that they're cheaper than TKC 80's doesn't seem to contemplate at least Revzilla. (even before shipping) ;)

Right, I must have been looking at the Euro Terra Specs, brain fart there. Oh well, the search continues. I do mostly road riding anyway, so no urgent need for something blockier than the (horrible off-road) saharas.
