2012 TE 250 - Broken rr turn signal, easily replaced, but there is 1" spacer it sits on and didn't realize that was busted too. Dealer can't find part number. He said his Husky vendor stopped showing up and he can't get a hold of him to ask. Unless I go complete aftermarket setup my dual sport is sidelined over this $2 part. Any ideas of what I should do?
Is it a plastice spacer about 1.5 in.? thick we have lots of them and also metal brackets that do the same thing that are alot more durable. toll free 888-806-1153 or bmp@telport.com
Just got off the phone with the part manager of the KTM dealer in my area and told that he will not be carrying parts for Husqvarnas built before 2014 and if he has to order parts he told me that expect long waiting for delivery. He also told me he will not be servicing pre 2014 Husqvarnas Also keep in mind that some KTM dealers that didn't sell Husqvarna before and that will be selling Husqvarna now will not be stocking all parts or if any for Husqvarnas that built under the BMW ownership or build before 2014. I'm quite sure some current Husqvarna dealers will still have parts in stock, but they may become limited within the next couple years. I'm currently seriously thinking about trading in my 2011 TE449, because I know this is going to be a serious issue in the next year or so. Just something to keep in mind for all us pre 2014 Husqvarna owners.
There are a bunch of great dealers who will continue to offer support for these bikes as they have been. Ditch your local morons and call Hall's, Motoxotica, or Bills. Or, if you chicken littles want to unload that time bomb before you can't find oil to fit it, I'll buy it from you for cheap.
I know this, this is one chicken little that won't waiting around for a 2-3 weeks for a simple BMW OEM part(s) and paying ridiculously over priced shipping cost when I can walking into any Husqvarna/KTM dealer and get parts on the spot or within a reasonable amount of time! Seriously, I love the direct Husqvarna is going, I just hate the mess BMW left behind!
Idk, I wanted some SMR parts, and a few goodies, motoxotica had them in stock, and will be getting everything else I wanted in a week. Seems like no problem to me. Except the 433$ price tag. BMW did pass that on to us.
I'm really not that concerned. My local dealers topped stocking parts about a decade ago and I have been ordering everything online since then. Why pay MSRP + 10% and then wait 4 days while they order the part and then have to drive and pick it up. I can order it online for MSRP - 25% and have it at my door in 1-2 days? Our local KTM dealer used to be oil stains on top of dirty concrete - smelled like gas, used oil and rubber. Not its neon, stainless and tile floors. The parts counter kid argued that KTM didnt make a 200cc bike - he's like "Since when do they make a 200?" "Ummm...since 1998...probably when you were born." Done with locals...
Just to let you know we just got a bunch of big boxes of parts that came off b/o so the flow is starting again after the moves in Italy.
