Just got a gripper seat cover from www.motoseat.com Looks pretty good, but I there is no hole for the dzus bolt and no instruction on how to install it around the dzus head or how to make sure that the cover fits the contour of the small dpression around the dzus head.

Anyone with tips / recommendations / how to's?

    Thanks.

I hope someone chimes in about this. I have wanted to change my seat cover, but the dzuz fastener has had me wondering the same thing.

You Tube is your friend. When I installed my Seat Concepts cover, I sliced a small X over the hole once the cover was completely installed and gently pushed the fastener through. I also added a plastic washer for extra protection. Has worked great for years.

It's not easy. I screwed up my SeatConcepts cover at that location. I ended up leaving it un-contoured, sewed in a headphone cable pass-through I cut off a backpack, take the ring off the fastener and use a screwdriver to remove the seat.

If I were to try again I would install the rest of the cover leaving the back temporarily stapled and a little loose. Using a heat gun I would CAREFULLY warm up the indent area and mold it to shape. Then pull the temp staples and apply spray adhesive to the area and clamp it in place for a while. Then re-staple not pulling the cover too tight. Finish by cutting out the hole.

I have always installed seat cover, then used my soldering iron to make the hole just big enough to squeeze the dzus fastener (Very tight, so you have to use lube or force through.) By using heat, everything is nice and sealed, with no way for a tear to start.

Never bothered with glue, once you push the fastener in and put the circlip on the back, the cover naturally follows the contours around the dzuz. Done this on a handful of Husky's, never had an issue.
