G'day all, can someone please explain what SEL 1 and SEL 2 are when switching on the ignition? 2010 TE450
SEL1 is full power, SEL 2 is 'soft' power. You switch between them by holding down the map switch on the bars for about 5 seconds once the engine is warmed up. Dave
Thanks for that, only there lies the problem, I don't have any other switches on the bars and I can't seem to find anything on the dash display after its started?????????
Unless I am meant to start the bike as Sel 2 appears before Sel 1????? Also forgot to mention that the O2 sensor and catalytic converter have been removed by dealer when bought new (is this the power up option)
YOU need to buy and hook up the Dual Mode switch to switch from Sel1 and sel2 if that's something you want. I have it- cause I thought the bike should have all its "options" available and out of curiosity I got it early on when my 09 was new. I almost never use it. For me its more or less a novelty. This lets you use sel2- you are already in sel1 (which is full power). YOU can control the power with your throttle and clutch- easily enough-.
