    Happy New Year y'all!

I've tried reaching Coffee to ask about posting this here, but had no luck. So if this posting is inappropriate in anyway, I hope he'll check in and set me straight.

Leaving a message in my profile is the absolute worst way to get my attention, especially around Christmas time a little over a year ago.

Here is a link to what you are asking about: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/rules.1/#post-3 (post #3 in that thread).
People should contact me, preferably by using the Contact Us link, and wait for a response. Though it can take quite some time to get a response.

Since you have manufactured/taken orders for/filled orders on/completed your first (large) batch - I took the liberty of deleting references to your product, especially the 2nd batch thread that was started, otherwise people will continue to want to encourage you to make more batches. For example if someone wanted the part you had made, they would typically use an internet search engine for the part and they would find this thread on Cafe Husky if I left that information up.

The reason for me spending many hours doing this: several Paying Cafe Husky Sponsors have been complaining, and at least 2 of them were also considering making the part you had made - but there was little point with you making them and selling them on Cafe Husky.

For the record: the only reason I am doing this publicly is so that all the people involved in your project would all get the same information, not to cause anyone any embarrassment. Specifically: when information is deleted, people think the worst. No one did anything wrong really.

    Howdy Coffee,

I actually thought I had used the "contact us" link mentioned...it was over a year ago, so I'm either remembering wrong or didn't get an answer from there and tried to reach you through the absolute worst way to get your attention. My apologies to you and all the vendors who've been complaining. It'd be great if someone really in business would step up and make these. When they do, I hope they'll recognize and respect SME's patent on the design as I have. I wish them the best of luck.

I suspect that was a general comment about people slipping free advertising into posts, not particularly about 610/630 sliders. The site is paid for by sponsors and no doubt part of the deal is that if they have to pay, then any competitors should also pay.

At some point any sales activity can cross the line that Coffee draws, and I dont doubt that the sponsors influence where that line is drawn.

I hear you Oregonsage and don't disagree....fact is in this particular case, I wasn't a competitor with anyone. Like several others, I too had searched everywhere possible for this particular product and none were available at the time. Keep in mind, my "large" batch was a whoppin' 25 sets and it took almost a full year to sell that many.

I encourage the two vendors who'd like to make this product to go for it and again wish them the best of luck.

I did not intend to leave this thread open, but to re-cap:
    • You did nothing wrong
    • You attempted to contact me, and I did not reply, which is not unusual - running this site takes more time than I have, I've been trying to get better at that.
    • As I mentioned, making things that do not exist for the newer bikes is ok, but only 1 smaller batch
    • This is probably news to most on this site, but 25 items is not small, at least 1 Cafe Husky Sponsor has indicated to me multiple times that a 'large quantity successful product' is much less than 100. Another Cafe Husky Sponsor thinks 25 items is huge. It all depends on the product.
    • Now that the product was developed, feel free to have someone else start 1 (and only 1) thread linking to another site where you are also discussing the product... but please do not keep posting to that thread - people will find that information just fine via the internet search engines.
    • If a Cafe Husky Sponsor, or any other company, wants to make the product they can do so if they want.
Think I will close this thread now.
