The famous Sheet Iron 300 is in mid May. I'm gonna do it, and i'm hoping to get some more Husky riders to join the fun. What Barstow to Vegas is to SoCal, the Sheet Iron 300 is to Nor Cal. Similar AMA Dual Sport type event, but its all trees and manzanita instead of sand and creosote. If you do one ride in NorCal - this would be the one to do. SO come on up SoCalians, and come on down PNWistanis. Lets rip thru the redwoods, use our license plates, and drink some micro-brews while we chat up some hippy chicks. Applications open April 1, and the event will be full within a few days. http://www.oaklandmc.org/index_sheetiron.htm
I'm in! Been there and done that...it's a blast. It does fill up fast and if your thinking about it get your entry in ON April 1 and as soon as you get your confirmation set up reservations for a hotel in Fort Bragg.
My entry is sitting on my desk waiting to get mailed! Now I'm second guessing mailing a day or two early so it gets there on April first.
I've been told if it gets there a day early, it is rejected. Ive also been told it will probably fill up on April 1! I'm going to mail it next day Fed Ex so it gets there early on April 1. Just some heads up.
Mine is filled out an I plan on standard mail out on Tuesdsy eve. Yes it will get bounced if it shows up early. Too late and it fills up and closes. Good luck all.
anybody else going? My only Internet access right now is via phone. Please post here and we can plan from there. Thanks in advance.
I'm #53 riding with a friend from Arnold who's got us booked at the Anchor Lodge down by the river. Come on by, look for the WR and TE parked out front or PM me if you're looking for ride buddies.
Nice to see quite a few Husky's out there..ran into Uber on trail 17 near Penny Pines and fixed a blown radiator cross over tube on a German speaking somebody's 2006 TE at soda springs...parts donated courtesy of a donor 82 Doge van junked out back!
I picked it up. A BMW of Marin neck cozy. Kinda fitting considering the aqusition by BMW. Don't know if I need it much right now with temps near summer levels. Cool none the less!
