The OSSA trials bike is similar but neither are direct injected like the ultra bad ass Ski-doo.

2 stroke anything is better in my book

I'm not on this bandwagon ... When a bike is really marketed and SOLD in numbers that make up more that a prototype, maybe. But after hearing of this efi 2t thing for ~5 yrs, I'm with reality and not fiction ...

Good luck on your engine building but I'm sticking with an expansion chamber and a CARB for my 2t bikes forever I hope ;) (I'm 56 and my 'forever' ain't that long really) ... Anything else, just may not be acceptable. Because if the 2t world I ride in today is made more complex tomorrow, I've dropping you off at the next corner.

It sure looks like it is injecting into the cylinder well above the transfers and about even with the top of the exhaust port. It could also be a multi-port system that injects both on the intake side and into the cylinder. Hard to tell exactly but cool stuff none the less. Can't wait for more details. With their electric power valves, digital ignition, and electronic fuel injection the ability to completely control engine mapping according to rider needs is exciting stuff.

Now if it performs better than the metering rod carbs and as reliably will be the telling question. Cool times.

well lets hope it works and stays working:excuseme: instead of chasing the perfect map plugin up filters and leaking pumps that don't and dirty loose electrical connections if i hit the lottery tomorrow there wouldn't be one in my garage not for several years but i haven't herd anything bad on the Ossa but how many Ossas are out there???

Well you could look at it that way. Or for me my TE511 EFI has been pretty much flawless for 6000 miles. No filters, pumps or issues. And with the JD is adjustable on the trail. Brilliant. My 2 strokes all get a whole new carb (Lectron) because they run better and get better milage. Like cars carbs will soon be thing of the past.

High Pressure Direct injected 2T is and will be the big advancement IMO. They work amazing on marine outboard engines and are rock solid reliable. Trying to cram all the necessary parts into a lightweight package may just be why they haven't come out yet.

Yeah but i love fi and have never had the issues people like to talk about. The carb is the only thing i dont like, the lectron makes it worthwhile for me. It will be my first 2 stroke mod :). This should get rid of premix flfrom what i understand making it even better

I always figured that unlike the snow and the water the DI would have a lot of problems digesting dirt and dust. Fluid under high pressure usually means very small nozzles.

sherco wont put pur crap- been watching their forums very closely. There push button start 2 strokes are rock solid. Bet this would be too. buying one of these + an extra set of bearings and extra top end with your bike purchase and you would be good for thousands and thousands of miles of riding. Not much for dealer network but who cares if its a two stroke and you had those extras.
May very well be my next bike in a years time

Since buying a Lectron I have to say that any fuel injection on a 2t is going to be a hard sell for me.

very true statement. my wr300 is just simply not the same bike. I am continually amazed when i ride it just how smooth efortless and powerfull it is. Now if it just had a push button start....people tell me getting a rekluse solves that so...

I'm not 100% sure on the mechanical side of a 2t engine but I know enough to be dangerous maybe so please bear with me with these question on the subject matter.

If the fuel is shot into the cylinder above the transfer ports, is this cutting out the action of that expansion chamber being filled with the gas\oil mixture? If not, can you further explain what this does as far as engine combustion goes as compared to the 2t engines we use today?

You can have higher compression ratios as both ports arent open at the same time as the fuel is being charged, therefore less limitations on scavenging from exhaust, I don't really know.. What I do wonder is if the bottom end isnt being lubricated by the crankcase inducted fuel oil is the bottom end a 4T closed system?

I like those Shercos, a good alternative to the big orange I don't like so much... The only thing I don't like about the Sherco 2t is the lack of a kick starter, my friend's electric start two strokes ktm and gasgas aren't so reliable, I hope sherco managed to get a robust E-start or we will see a lot of them trying to push start his bikes
