Husky AB is already in the UTV business and toying with ATV's, so I doubt they'll let BMW use the Husky name on such products.
NO cant stand the POS machines they stuff up our ST and are a real blight in the bush. Think you know my feelings here.
X2 I hate those F'ing things as well. They have ruined any trails they can gain access to here. We try to go where they can't, and don't go to where they can. I have heard them referred to as 'wheelchairs'. They are the ones that will do donuts in your camp and run you down head-on on the trail. Yeah, I guess we're talking about the people that buy them and not the machines. GRRRRRRRR..... They are also the ones that will strap a cooler to their machine and drink all day on the trail.
Well thats it then, Husky is officially requested to cease and desist this train of thought. Just get the Nuda to marketn asap.
I have rode and races since 77 and our trails and options really started to dissapear right around when quads started becoming popular. I say HELL NO !!
Trail killers & some give all off-roaders a bad name. I like the tread lightly crowd myself, ATV's & SBS eat trail up.
Besides the fact that they ruin single track trails, the larger Polairis Yamaha etc models are almost the size of my old jeep and very hard to miss in a head to head encounter. I refer to them as power chairs.
Good one team we are on the same page here. Just goes to show that us dirt bikers are really green underneath and really appreciate our bush tracks in pristine condition. Those quads are real trench diggers, really ugly footprint.
We were up to the Kern Plateau in the southern Sierras a couple of weeks ago, made it up to Bald Mountain Lookout, a fire lookout at 9500'. Overlooks Dome Land Wilderness and pretty much a 360deg view of the Sierra range. Nice old guy there, opens up the lookout for visitors during the day. Spent some time talking to him, and in leaving I mentioned there would be about 70 riders coming in to the camp down below, nice adventure riders from advrider.com. His comment was, oh, that's a good place for them to camp, they'll have a good time there. I said they're a mellow group, bunch of nice riders. He said, yeah, we don't have any problems with motorcylists up here, 'it's those quad and atv riders that cause all the trouble'. Go figure. Unsolicited from a friendly, old-time, forest manager. I told him we call them wheelchairs and he laughed, said he'd have to remember that term. This is a consistent scenario I run into every time I have contact with forest management personnel. The riding areas close to the LA basin that people can drive to within an hour or so have been completely taken over and 'ruined' by kwads and their ilk. They're like cockroaches. And now with chinese knock-offs any of them can buy a POS with 4-wheels and go out there and drink and be obnoxious. The further you are willing to drive to ride, the further away from these idiots you can be. I know not all of them are like this, hunters seem to be a different category, and there are places that work well for 4-wheelers. Fortunately the most of 'em aren't willing to make the longer drives and will gather in the popular OHV areas that the rest of us can avoid. EDIT: A Husqvarna ATV?? Are f'ing kidding me???? Bad enough KTM got into it. Send these contraptions to the dunes - great place for them.
i know yall are bitchin about them on trails and i dont care what all they do to mx tracks but they are pretty useful out here in the rual areas along with helping to drag the track, pulling sleds in winter time, pulling your dead deer out etc etc *comming from a guy thats banning atv's beisides relatives on my mx track...
