Hi everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster. Riding a 2010 SM630 with a few modifactions, but nothing terribly exciting. Love the bike. It replaced a 2002 Honda VFR (Interceptor in the US) about a year ago. Mostly commuting, but the odd trip is starting to creep into the riding. Did approx 1,100km's last weekend down in the NSW Snowy Mountains. The ride itself was great, but the bike took a bit of a battering. Took my first spill, but that isn't why I am posting. During one leg the sidestand disappeared. Very annoying as I had done a mini service a few nights beforehand, touching pretty much every bolt with a spanner to ensure it was tight. One glaring omission in the sidestand. Lesson learnt, but now I need to replace. Bike shop quoting $200 to replace. Makes me think there might be other alternatives that will allow me to speak to a few wreckers in the hope of tracking down a cheaper replacement. Only 6 SM630's were sold in Australia in 2012, so they aren't exactly a dime a dozen when it comes to finding second hand spare parts. Does anyone know if I am limited to OEM for a replacement, or will something else do the job? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Tones
