    I have just dimantled my 390's silencer/spark arrestor and there is no exhaust packing. Is this correct?

    I did mine a while back Steve !
    Just get a pack of wadding from your local bike shop.
    Once you have the circlip out it takes about 5 minutes to do.
    How about some pictures of your new purchace then.
