The gopro camera itself is nothing special. It's the proprietary video codec that makes them work so well. I wonder if this copy uses the same firmware software? It would be nice to only drop $100 on one since they get thrashed in the woods pretty fast.
So cant i just buy the software gp use and view my replay xd footage through it? Tbh i dont use and video software bar windows media player and thats ok just a tad laggy. What you guys think reccomend? Good price point for they copy.
I've been using one for several months for both MC's and my multirotor on a brushless gimbal with very good results. Just could not see dropping a $400 to $500 camera from several hundred feet up or on the pavement at 70mph. I edit with Windows movie maker and upload to Youtube no problem. I paid under $70 stateside for mine. SJ4000

get coated steel braid fishing leader and crimp type barrels and find a good attachment place on your helmet or gear. Even if it flys off it will remain attached to your person.
The SJ4000 comes with a tether like that but, I think that is what made the scratchy noise in the 2nd TR video. Did another test later with a piece of nylon cord and it wasn't quite as bad. ( I think the noise might be caused by my Arai XD)
Found out buddy Scott has been using these. Here is what he said when I asked him how it compares to the gopro... The compromises are that the optics are not as clear, the transition from light to dark are slower to react, audioable for the record/no record is too low. I have not had an issue with the vibration on the trail and the sound is pretty good. You get a ton of different mounts and depending on which one you buy you also get a spare battery. For under 100 bucks it get the job done for recording a race or trail ride. If you are planning on doing a bunch of editing or using the video you shot for promotional pieces I would opt for the GoPro.
