I searched the manual and either overlooked or it does not list the SM610's redline or rpm range. Does anyone know this info?

8250 rpm, there is also a rev limiter that cuts the engine out before is disassembles itself.

Thanks, I've hit the limiter a few times but, wasn't paying attention to the tack.

Don't feel bad, I've tickled my rev limiter a few times to. There is a adjustable alert that will light a warning light on the dash but like you already stated, when you are that high into the R's there is little time to pay attention to the dash. If you know how to access it there is also a max RPM and Max MPH feature so you can go back after the fact and see how badly you have been abuseing the machine.:D

    2 questions...

#1 How do I get to this info?

#2 What gearing are you running?

Sorry i was mistaken about the Max RPM screen, I have that on a separate meter. You should be able to access the Max MPH screen just by scrolling through you're existing screens, unless that screen was deleted somewhere along the line. There is a way to retrieve deleted screens but I may have to play with it a little to figure it out because the shop manual isn't real clear on that part.

    It's a secret.:D

Actually the 126 MPH was an erroneous reading that I just happened to catch and thought I would capture it on the camera so I could make posts like that this one. The bike has seen triple digits many times though.

Yep, it records MAX SPEED not RPM's.

WC, with my 15/42 combo and slack wind I recorded 109mph I have yet to try my new gearing. I will say this, these speedos are not accurate and the numbers are only for shits-and giggles when I ran that original speed I had no idea I was going that fast, on that day I had an open stretch of road and flogged it, when I looked at the speedo that's what it read. All I could do is GIGGLE.lol

Actually with that gearing combo those numbers are probably pretty close.
