It seems the last two sets of spare Husky wheels I sold, went to owners of SMRs (450 and a 510) who wanted to ride dirt as well as street. That is really a good idea I will have to look at in 09 when I buy my next Husky. The SMR forks work great down in Baja for riding and racing, so its a + right off the bat. I sure love this Husky only site!

I have a TE610 and scored a set of SM wheels, brakes and forks for it. Converted it to Sm and am having a blast on it. Good fun. i can swap it all out in about 15 minutes. Great DS bike and SM bike all in one. The 610 is a wonderful platform for a do it all bike. Quite the chameleon.

however the 08 SMR's have the shortened rear swing arm which I am pretty sure will leave no room for an 18 or 19" rear wheel/tire, though I haven't tried to physically install a TE wheel on an 08 SMR, I am pretty sure that's the scenario. I believe the 08 SMR rear swing arm is 30mm shorter and all of that length is taken out in the wheel well dept.

Amen, brother! As soon as I got my SM610, I had Les do up my suspension. I put handguards, skidplate, Uptite's carb filter thingy, and a set of MT60's and went out to play in the NV desert for a week. It was a blast! I wanted the 610 motor for long-distance dualsport/adventurey stuff, thinking it would be the best bike for me (biggest motor in the lightest and most nimble package) and I was not disappointed at all. It does exactly what I wanted it to do, and does it quite well. It's a monster blast on the street, too. That front brake, alone, was worth the price of admission:)

Sone photos from that Nevada trip...

It was less of a handful on singletrack than I thought!

I'm just about to do similar with my 630, skid plate, handguards, heated grips, bar risers, luggage rack (all Touratech, 'cos I work for them!) then slap on a set of MT60's and maybe a Lynx fairing and a Safari Tank for a TE can slot in - hey presto, adventure supermoto! Oh and maybe a new seat too, double sculpted to save my precious derriere from assault and protect the Mrs should she join me...

    pics coming soon...

Did any of the 610SMR's ever get a shortened swingarm like the '08+SMR's did? maybe the FI'd 610's or 630's? SMR>Dirt wont work if you start with a shortened swingarm.. But the TE610's like you guys have above obviously work great. These huskies definitely are a Do-it-all bike! LOVE 'EM!
