I just removed the airbox from my 2011 SMS 630 and to my surprise there is a maze-like plastic restrictor piece behind the Twin-Air foam filter. I recently installed the power-up kit and the bike runs great as far as no more surging or backfiring or stalling. My question is, is there any downside to removing this restrictor or will the bike need to be re-mapped? I will leave the backfire screen in place.

Mine was removed by the dealership. My bike was shipped to my door, and that part came to me in a box long before I received the bike.

I just got an SMS 630. Removed the restrictor plate and installed the power up kit but now it idles fast. They weren't able to give me a manual...how do I adjust the throttle?

Think that the fast idle after installing the pu kit is normal. The idle setting screw is well hidden and you´ll need the special tool in the tool kit. Instructions (the manual) are on the computer stick that you should have got with the bike.

I use an 8mm open end wrench to adjust my idle with no problems. The idle screw is tucked in behind the leading edge of the airbox.

Fixed it! The bike is sooo much better now! Can't wait till it's broken in and I can rev it higher! I also used the 8mm wrench that came in the tool kit.
