125-200cc SMWB 165...is it practical?

Got a stock geared 2013 WB165. Is it worth while or even practical to set it up as a street jibber? If so what should I do? Gear wise ect (17" wheels I understand).

Stock geared, as in 13/50? I ran mine 13/48 in the woods. I think it would be a cool street SM. I bet you could run 14/48 in SM mode.

our friends in europe have the sm125, im sure they will be along to tell you they get along ok with fewer cc!

You need Highway speed or traffic light hooligan behavior?

gearing in the tranny is different so if you have a WR gear box the sprocket gearing will be different than the SMS gearing.

the standard SM gearing is to tame and leaves gaps in between the gears yet it squeezes out the speed.

having a WR and gear a SMS the same is the ultimate fun bik.

traffic lights and so on are a blast and commercial 600 cc street racers you pull in front for the first 30 meters together with the agility of the bike its a town fun bike.

gearing 13-52 or 12-50.

nothing but smiles.

you need to get more then 120KM/H for some time, look for another bike.

with gearing you can do it but its is a lame experience.

Since I have plated a few wr 144s believe me this thought crossed my mind in my sleep even... Sm wheels and front brake setup along with white plastic black seat and custom decals....gearing you would have to play wit . I'm guessing on a 165 more in the street 14 to a 45-47 guessin . But come on a illegal plated two stroke smallbore on the street in a sm package . Priceless...even and educated cop would have.to let you go as he probably had a DT. Or dreamed about a Suzuki rg 500 gamma.....I'd let ya go......super durable great handling platform yea I still may.do it sometime...

how do the gearboxes/drivetrain hold up on the blacktop? imagine it would transfer a fair bit of torque/stress through driveshaft to gearbox wouldn't it? cush drive rear hub not required?

the Sm is for me a hooligan town bike as lately i don't find that much time to ride in the woods

the small bore 2 stroke with a lightning fast acceleration is for sure one big ear to ear smile and with assertive riding style (guilty) some potent crotch rockets are no match in town traffic.
