2 days of snow riding,,,,the Swedish Nat!!! as much as 6in in some of local canyons,,,,rode Sat and just got a rippin work out. Had to go back for more today, aggro yet smooth was the word. It is a crazy experience its been since winter 1984-85 on a KDX200 in NY. PS being that it is SoCal the temps reached 50 on both days it was perfect. many locals reported it was unridable,,,(sunny day riders) it was tough but just epic!!! kind of like deep sand, the best was on point, just carving !!! It was a very rare thing here,,,had to do it before global warming kicks in LT-R rules R
Cool. I've been tempted to hit the local streets and see how many times I fall down. We got about 6" today which would be fine but we had some earlier this week so under the fresh snow is a layer of ice. It's not that often that we get snow, or have a white Xmas in the Vancouver area but it'll stick around forsure. This is the first year since 1971 that all of Canada will experience a white Xmas. Hard to believe but true.
Rob, Should we be sending the BRP SkiDoo demo rig your way? Snow riding bikes is a blast, screws or studs make it even better. Time to switch to sleds here though, but we'll break out the bikes if the snow gets too low.
the secret to the ride is the fact that the ground under the snow was not frozen,,it was still very sketchy but if the ground was frozen, studs would have been needed (like you northern guys need), we could still scratch for traction as it was. R
Riding Hey Robert, Just registered on this site. Nice pics from McCain. Just bought my buddies 06 TC 510. Getting it down here from Sac. in the next week. Can't wait to hit the trails. Bike is fully set up, I could not pass it up. Talked to Alex last night. Hammer down sometime in March. They did an A loop Tecate single track benefit ride last week, 40+ riders. There going again next weekend. Mitch S.
Nah Rob, not fat, gear is fine... ya just look really tall in those pics. But then, everyone looks tall to me....lol
Riding through "Snowconeville" looks like quite a workout. I think I'll wait till it's a little less white to make some tracks out there.
