G'day, I have a 2008 TE450 which didn't start one day. It was the fuel pump as I couldn't hear it prime when I turned the ignition on. I bought a ebay fuel pump and installed it. I threw out the old inline fuel filter and fitted it with the one below. The husky dealer doesn't sell filters by themselves??? With the new pump installed I could hear the pump prime and the bike started after a few attempts. It would run for about 15 seconds and then stall. It would then restart and run again for the 15 seconds. I took the bike to Chris Watson's at Cessnock (reputable dealer) and after a few days they rang and said it was the pump and they couldn't get it sorted. They said that they had put another pump from another bike in and it worked fine. $850 replacement for new fuel pump plus labour I told them to leave it with me and I picked up the bike. When i got home I tried to start the bike and I could hear the pump prime, but thought that since it was a ebay cheapie it might not be working properly. I then ordered a CA Cycleworks pump as recommended by a few others and installed it. The pump primes well and sounds a bit better than the ebay one. The bike does not start at all though. It primes the fuel pump and then the starter just keeps on chugging away. I really dont know whether its the pump or not. It sounds right but wont start. Im also not so sure whether the bike shop actually had it running with another pump in it or they just said that to get me to buy the whole new unit. Before i take it back to the shop can anyone give me a few tips on what else this might be.
It sounds like its priming nornally. I would have to go with what I know and say that CW is nornally OK but i doubt CW works on them himself anymore . Really you cant put it past anyone that they might have done sweet FA. You could try refitting it and pulling the fuel injector and see if it sprays when you hit the starter button. Im sure there is a better option than this though.
I'd put it all back together and then check for spark. If it was getting good spark, I'd check the wires that power the fuel injector for a parted wire or a wire rubbed bare and grounding out.
Checked for spark and it is OK. Tried to undo two screws that hold injector in but they are really tight. Checked over all wiring and all seems to be OK with no frays etc. Im thinking it may be part of the fuel pump other than the pump itself, ie electrical component. I might have to bite the bullet and get a whole new fuel pump assembly from the dealer..........
call bill at bmp sounds like a sensor to me mind did the same thing it was the temp sensor I believe but call bill and talk to him...

From reading so many topics on efi issues, it seems to be the case that once the software on the efi is dialed in, the bikes perform well ... Then you only deal with additional maintenance and extra maintenance items such as fuel pumps.. I know I gotta buy an extra one ... -- Just watched your VID... Good work but not sure on the fuel pressure exhibited though .. I did once take the fuel line off my Ranger and hit the key ... It had lots of pressure
OK, all is fixed........... It turns out that the fuel line from the top of the pump to the filter had a small split in it and was only producing about 8psi. Watsons bike shop at Cessnock fixed the problem and they charged me for only 1 hour of labour. ($99). In my excitement to get back home, I strapped the bike in the trailer and took off for home about an hour away. When I went to get the bike off the trailer I realised the seat was missing. ... Fark..... Wasn't tightened down properly, which was my fault. Another hour each way trip at night with my 6 yr old looking for the seat and we ended up finding it in a ditch about 800m from home.. D'oh. I now have a seat with two small tears in it, but the bike goes, and after having it off the tracks for 12 months, Im still happy.
Found same problem recently. My 2009 450 just instantly died on me mid ride and would not re-start. not even a sputter. After checking for spark I pulled the fuel pump and found the fuel hose had split. I was surprised that this split caused the symptoms I was seeing (instant cutout with no rough running or sputtering, no hint of starting) as I had had this hose come loose once and it resulted in rough running symptoms. I assumed something more was also wrong but I was encourage buy this post and sure enough once I replaced the hose the bike fired right up! This mid ride fail was my own fault as I knew the hose was in bad shape and I should have replaced it sooner.
I had an Injector go bad on me mid trail ride, and the fuel filter which was an aftermarket had a split in it .
