Hello all, After putting only a few (commuting) miles on my beloved TE511, I decided I needed more bike and traded it in for a brand new 2014 Terra! It's away in storage now for the winter but I absolutely cannot wait to start riding it! Looking forward to learning and sharing experiences with the terra here. Thanks all for the great and informative advice.
You are going to love riding it. My Redheaded Mistress is in the process of getting farkled out right now.
Thanks Charlie! My only experience riding it was a few laps around a parking lot at a dealership. Another kind fellow pulled up on one and we started chatting about how I was originally going to get the Terra first and then decided on the TE. He just said, "here man, try it out". I didn't go passed 2nd gear and already I fell in love! What are you getting done on your bike? If you don't mind my asking...
I have been keeping a sort of build thread here: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/my-red-headed-mistress.38198/ I've done quite a bit so far.
Congratulations You are the owner of an unique machine Mine has 2600kms and the balance is A++++ Also Take a look at http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=850525 Enjoy your motorcycle
Aciel, what dealer did you get yours from? I'm in clifton and bought my Strada at Town & Country Cycle up rt 23.
Hey Chris, Got it from Bob at Central Jersey Cycles in Eatontown. He used to be located in New Egypt. He had a bunch of TE's,WR's and TXC's, 2 Terras, and various used KTM's mainly dirt bikes. No Stradas. How do you like your strada? I'm curious now to ride one because I've yet to see one in the flesh.
Very crafty Charlie. The rear rack looks the business and super sturdy. I Love the SW Moto Engine protection and regulator protection...
I like the Strada. I put a 15 tooth counter sprocket on it, and that woke it up quite a bit. I have a PowerCommander and autotune that's not installed at the moment. (had some issues early on, so i put a wukka king on the bike for the time being) I might put the PCV back on, or i may sell it. I have been thinking of getting an FZ-09, in which case I'm not sure if i'll keep the Strada or not. We'll see in the spring. --Chris
Hey aciel78, Congrats on the Terra. And welcome to the forum. Just be aware that they can multiply if you're not careful.
I was looking at the FZ-09 as well but I wanted something different so I chose the terra. I'm also coming from an '03 Speed Triple so I kinda know what 3 cyl already feels like. Besides I'd probably get into a bit of trouble with a bike like the FZ-09 which is partly why I sold the Triple.
