The WR300 is getting a bit long in the tooth for racing and I'm ready for something a little faster and smaller. I have a friend who went from a 4 stroke to a TC250 and regrets it. This TC has low hours and is real nice.
I'd like to ask, if anyone on the East coast is running a TC in hare scramble racing, what mods have you done? First off, I know suspension is key. I will be pulling the suspension off and taking it to my suspension guy. As far as the motor/trans., I would rather the close ration gearbox instead of a wide ratio since most races I never get past 4th gear, due to the tight and gnarly woods and rocks we race in. I've owned a KTM in the past but I'm not real familiar with the new KTMs/Huskys.
    Thanks

I should have it by August. Maybe I'll still have the WR300 as well. Are you gonna have a bike out here?

2014 TC 250, suspension is good out of the box. I am 175-180 450 novice to 50 expert and coming off of YZ450 and the 2014 tc is every bit as good. PM me if you want a shortcut to settings, otherwise KTM talk has a lot of threads regarding set up.

I rode a 2015 (thanks Bills) and it was a rocket on top. Super fun. Felt small and nimble, OK bottom, lots-o-top. For the short bit I rode it in high dez sandy stuff it was real good. Suspension was stiff but fine, bike handled good. Massaged to fit you it could be a very good bike from my short sample. Also rode a 15 TE250 and think for some reason I liked the TC better but this is in a faster area than I usually ride. In tight slick woods I think it would reverse.

I have the TC250s sister bike (14 KTM 250SX) and its an awesome woods bike. The 14s are better than the 15s IMO because they still had the sweet closed chamber forks. Here is a list of mods to make a killer woods bike.

Suspension - Is surprisingly good out of the box but just about any decent tuner can make it awesome for not much money.
Tank - Just buy the OEM tank from a TE250. Fits the best and the stock tanks are the cheapest option.
FWW - 9oz Steahly smooths out the power
Skid plate - Stock plate from a TE250 bolts up

Those mods make an awesome woods racer.

Cool yeh hit me up. I'm an hour from Reading. Would you like to ride in "The Skook"? Schuylkill County trails up in St Clair/Frackville is where we usually ride.
