Hey guys, Just thought with all the new threads regarding race results on the new TC 250, I would chime in with some of my own. First off, the bike is simply amazing and I can honestly say it is the most fun I have had riding in a long time everytime I race it. Combined with correct jetting and the HGS pipe, I honestly don't feel I'm down any power to any other 250F on the track (of course I'm down a few ponies against all the 450's I race). Also, with offset Husky clamps and Ohlins suspension, this is by far the best suspension I have ever rode.....simply awesome. As far as race results, I have yet to loose a single +25A class O/A this year (although I have lost a couple motos but not an Overall) and my worst finish in the 250 A class has been 3rd. Obviously, in the +25A class I am ALWAYS against 450's and am usually pretty competitive off the start (have had maybe 2 holeshots but am at least always mid-pack).....but as the motos wear on and the weight/power of the 450's come on is when I continue to stretch out leads. In the 250 A class (with the newer rules put in place several years back), I am almost always racing guys/kids on 250 2-strokers.......which I have been competitive with so far this year. Just thought I would pass along some initial information on the year.....still pretty early. I will try to get some pictures taken next weekend. I have a couple overseas trips in the making to do some racing with a couple different Husky teams this year.....so that could be really fun and interesting. I have once again got my National Pro License and will plan to race the TC 250 at Red Bud and Millville......now with a little National experience, hopefully I will do a little better this year (plus I will be on my own bike and not a borrowed Honda). Must say thanks to my sponsors who have been VERY supportive in the 2010 season: Husqvarna, Hall's Cycles, 7602 Racing, P3, Decal Works, Scott USA, Dirt Tricks, LTL Design Concepts, Glenn Brothers Garage Door Co., and Project 321. Thanks. Blake Young
Wow Blake that is awesome news. Every time I read Husky race results with finishes in the top it puts a big grin on my face. I will share this with my son in the morning when he get to work; it gives us something positive to think about for the day. Thanks for sharing your impressions on the TC 250, your race results, and good luck.
Awesome Blake! I'm convinced more than ever that riders like you can resurrect the Husky brand as a competitive alternative to the mainstream legions of Jap and Pumpkin bikes. Every time Cody does well in a moto, we get 2 or 3 or 5 or 6 people coming to our pit to look and chat. This past weekend we were the only Husky at the track (as usual) but people were genuinely interested in seeing how our TC 250 could possibly be competitive with the mainstream bikes. Typical questions are: "Where's the closest Husky dealer?". "Can you get parts?". "Is it reliable?". Cody and I have fun answering questions and trying to promote the Husky brand. Way to go Blake! With results like yours, we can get more people interested in Husky one race at a time.
Keep up the great work Blake. we are working through the homologation process with the AMA. They still have the 400 unit minimum unit requirement. We are working to get it changed. I'll keep you updated. In the meantime keep showing the rest of the mx world how good our bike really is.
Scot, Thanks for the homologation update, it's great to know you guys are still working on this. Thanks for the comments guys. Blake
