Buddy and i went up to an area that is just now becoming open due to snow. We had one of the most awesome days in a long time. Little raint he night before made the conditions PERFECT and we both had sweet running little 2 strokes to hammer. I was on my 09 WR125 and he was on a brand new 09 KTM200. Super fun time int he big woods (huge old growth in this area). Vids turned out just OK but man what a fun day...

Great videos! They actually make you look younger and better looking? :excuseme: Seriously, you guys look like you were moving along at a fast pace and I liked the way you were looking back as if to wait for the KTM rider so that you would be in the video.

Also cool watching you twist the throttle and spin the rear on the corner exits

Kelly...........you need to work at standing up more!
That looks like such nice trails.......I am jealous..........We had soooo much rain here in JUNE in the NE that all looks like bLACKWATER 100! Suspension looks to be working nice in rear and engine sounds nice at end of 2nd vid..couldn't hear it sing much otherwise as you were too far from mic in most of it

Well I did it. It's all Kelly's fault!:D Got the GoPro Hero at Cycle Gear for $199.00. Been messing around with it all afternoon and it seems like a nice little unit.

when you go riding its a good idea to take 2 sets of batteries and two 2 gig cards...the batteries need to be extra high quality NiMh 1000 amp/hr rechargeables

change the batteries and card after 30 or 45 min....riding time

and when you get in the bushes...watch out and remember to duck your head...the good thing is all the parts are available cheap....

the go hero can shoots stills as well.....its got many features

Krieg...I'd kill to see some race footage from Cody's helmet !

Thanks for the advice Troy! I've got some 900 mAhr NiMh batteries but no 1K's. I may try to find some 1K's before we go to PA to ride the coal regions next week. I'm also planning to get some MX footage if I can convince Cody to race with a camera fastened to the top of his helmet!. I was also worried about low limbs as you've pointed out. I briefly considered mounting on the side of the helmet until I realized the twigs and branches would be worse from that position. This is definitely a cool little toy!

Norman, the GoPro is capable of taking some decent stills. For the money, I don't think there's anything out there that will do as much as this little booger will do.

I run two different cams a Sony bullet cam plugged into my Sony video cam great vids, but you have to mess with a lot of wires.

    And the Oregon Scientific
For the price you can't beat Oregon Scientific ATC2K (ATC-2000) Helmet Camera

Under a $100 it take 2 AA batteries records for about 2 hrs and is very very compact.
    Plus it's water proof.

The bracket that hold it to your helmet is not very good.
But I just turn it on and throw a piece of duct tape over my helmet.
You do have to mess with it first time, to see where to have it positioned.
You can't see what you are videoing till you get home.
But who cares turn it on and forget about it.

    It does not take stills

I have the ATC2K and did not like it much. Poor quality vid IMHO.

Agreed...Not my first choice of video cameras that's why I went with a Sony Bullet Cam. But for $80 it's file size is small enough for up loading to the internet like U-Tube
Plus it's water proof and the kids take it to the beach etc.
