With all the 2 stroke trail bikes being snapped up right now in California, it's been sort of difficult to plan buying a new machine. I settled for the first used one that I managed to reach before any other buyers showed up. Got myself a woods bike.....
the reason the 2 strokes are being grabbed up is a rule change, early bikes are grandfathered 2022 bikes fit a new category, most all will be "red sticker" what does that mean??? think Kontrol, yes the spelling is correct if you don't live in Cali you wouldn't know about this, "red sticker" has limitations of when and where you can ride, "green sticker" year round and anywhere allowed congrats on finding a great bike, very nimble in the trees
Right now, all used two strokes are selling for ridiculous prices in Ca. Somebody asked me if I got a good deal on the Beta. I told them them that right now a "good deal" is if you can get to the overpriced bike before somebody else does. I see ads for 25 year old KDXs, where the asking price is nearly 3000 dollars. Just look at the entry level and play bike market right now....no little bikes on the showroom floors, and the dealers are adding markup at a stupifying amount....for instance 1300 dollars for dealer prep on a 3800 dollar Kawasaki KLX140F. And they will get it, too, because people are waiting in line to buy those machines. These are crazy times, for sure.
I'm having a hard time finding a new bike to beat the end of Red Stickers. I have a deposit on a bike in Utah and I'm not even sure I can get it registered in Cali. Lol
