• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

Space Saver Tool Kit

Jughead

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'm one of those who didn't get a tool kit with my bike and from what I understand, the kit is junk anyway. It would be nice to have the spanner for the shock and I'm going to keep trying to get one.

With the limited space under the seat, there's not allot of room so I assembled what I think is a good basic kit:

* ¼" Driver handle
* ¼" Drive breaker bar
* ¼" Combination wrench
* ¼" Six point socket
* Metric hex set
* Torx bit set
* Flat & Phillips bits
* Crescent wrench
* Vise Grip (need to go shopping)

Everything except the pliers fit into an old eye glass case I had. In my tank bag I carry:

* Tire plug/inflation kit
* Tire gauge
* Fuses (mini = 4, 7.5, 10, 15, glass = 10)
* Safety wire
* Wire ties
* Tape
* Spring (side stand)
* Flash light

This isn't everything I would carry for a trip, but it makes me feel a whole lot better than running around with nothing.

Hey Jughead,

You're pliers are dangerously close to your battery terminals. Being non insulated they will easily short your battery and possibly start a fire!

I thought the exact same thing when I saw it, glad you don't travel like that. I like the multi use 1/4 driver handle/extension. Is 1/4 sturdy enough though?

this is awesome, and something i should do too.
what size are the torx bits?

what's safety wire for?
(edited, nevermind, the bros told me it's like a replacement for string to tie things and make sure something doesn't come loose)

Smart boyz those bros are, arent they ?

;)

Only joking. My 3 sisters always tell me its good to have older brother :)

The Torx set came from DeWalt and was only about $6. This sure isn't designed to replace the tools in your workshop, but it ought to cover most of the bases if you need to get inside of your headlight, remove a body panel, etc. I'm only carrying the hex key set because I replaced a few of the factory fasteners with allen-heads.
