richened up to 1/4 turn out. Spewing spooge out the silencer (even the rivits) and connection with pipe. Only a slight color change. Any chance I got the wrong size rod, running wrong oil, and or radio? Rod = 3-1 XL ; oil = castor927 ; radio = 40:1 ; gas 93 octane (non ethanol)

Running like a top. Confused by light colored plug and excess spooge. 1/2 turn out now.

It took a few hrs for me to burn oil out of the pipe from the stock carb. When I had lectron perfect I would still get a little on end and out of rivits. DONT adj for oil dripping adjust for plug and performance.

Depending on the fuel and mix oil you won't always get a coffee colored plug. Spooge means nothing except that the oil flashpoint is high enough that all the oil isn't burning in the exhaust. I use Ammsoil and VP110 and although my bike runs about as perfect as I could ask for. I've had greenish gray plug color most likely due to the lead in the fuel.

How much ride time does it take for a plug to show a representative color?

You really should throw a new plug in it and re-check..

To do it properly, you need to do a WOT run, then shut it off immediately and coast into you pit and pull the plug. If you idle, or ride slowly, or at all after your WOT run, it will alter the look of the plug.
Now... I don't know about 2 strokes, but trying to read a plug on a 4 stroke single, with modern fuels is nothing more than a waste of time.

A plug won't color immediately, especially on a put-put run. It will stay washed because it never reaches operation temperature.
