So my speed sensor packed in, sending random readings to the dash, then just reading 0.
I could have just phoned a Husky dealer, but wheres the fun in that,
Got some of these-https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10pcs-Reed-Switch-GPS-14A-14mm-Normally-Open-Magnetic-Switch Cut the broken sensor off, soldered the new switch on then heat shrink, machined a housing from 2 inch alu bar then glue the switch in and heat shrink over.Jobs a good'un. Cost-£4.68

Nice thrifty repair. Good to see people use a little ingenuity!

After the sensor broke, i cut it open as an autopsy. I was unimpressed with what i found, so looked to see if i could do better at a reasonable cost, it didnt take long to find out i could.
I believe the OEM magnetic reed switch was a glass one
I found my OEM switch housing to be fractured about 1/3rd of its length from the open end, i dont know how this may have happened, maybe water ingress & freezing action :excuseme:
The OEM housing is M8 threaded aluminium drilled down the centre 4mm diameter. The housing i made is only threaded as far as it needs to be then it is 9mm diameter, i had to drill down the centre 4.5mm diameter to fit my heat shrinked switch. The magnetic reed switches i bought are supposed to be vibration resistant and are with out any doubt significantly less fragile than the glass ones. I sealed my switch into my housing using silicone sealant, because its what i had.
This was only possible and cheap for me because i have a small lathe. I never looked into finding out how much a new speed sensor cable was from a dealer.

Thanks for help with my speedo :) I had multiple issue on my bike - 1. speedometer did not work and the one of pin dropped out from connector to the CPU.
My fix was done on original cable and also housing.
