Hello All, My speedo stopped working on my 09 SM610, so I need some help. It was working fine during my ride, then suddenly, it didn't show my speed. Everything else works except the speedo. I changed the speedo sensor but still not working. Any ideas? Thanks, Rich
my speedo stopped also on my te450, same deal, everything else is fine but no speed. the problem is in the cable, mine had already been repaired before so I'm thinking of getting a new one, because it keeps happening. if you find the break in the wire it isn't too hard to repair, expose the ends of the wire and use solder to rejoin them. then some heat shrink over it, or just wrap it with duct tape.
I just replaced the speedo sensor wire with a new one, but it's still not working. Do you have any other suggestions to help me trouble shoot? Thanks, Rich
You might make sure the magnet itself is 1)still there and 2) still magnetic. I have been told those little things can actually "have the magnetism knocked out of them." lol. Test with a small magnet to see if the sensor activates with another magnet.
happened to me once. I disconnected the cable, turned the key on and off then reconnected the cable. Its started working again.
Thank you all for the replies. After reading through other sites, some others had the same problem so I tried it and it worked. My speedo began working after I disconnected the battery, charged it overnight and reinstalled the cables. Thanks again! Rich
This has happened on my 610 several times. I just pull the battery cable off and then put it back on and voila'...I know how fast I'm going again I haven't had a speedo in a few months but find it's not that essential when I've got the tach featured on my dash.
Hello everyone" I just had the same problem with my 2009 TE310. (No Speedo) So i unhooked the battery-- removed the sensor and clean both ends of the sensor and magnet on the disc. hooked everything back up, Turn the key on and turned the front wheel by hand. And hey presto" It all works again. This is a great website, and is a credit to all of the admin staff and all the members who pass info on to another.
